I think you're referring to Optimistic Rollups which is now live on Ethereum. It can help BAT in lowering the transaction fees and makes the it faster. Optimistic Rollups is one of the scheduled solutions leading up to Ethereum 2.0 with sharding.
I think bitexploder is referring to the "Dunbar's number" which is 150.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar%27s_number
From the wiki:
Dunbar's number is a suggested cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships. By using the average human brain size and extrapolating from the results of primates, he proposed that humans can comfortably maintain only 150 stable relationships.
Me too, nearly two decades now. Started using it for Win32 apps also. Now we're using it for mobile apps.
> First of all, the boss of the fund did not have the skills to judge who could write a trading strategy, and who couldn't.
The Dunning–Kruger effect in action.
In a big company such as Google with very complex systems, such a thing is likely to happen. Even with very detailed specification with rigid scrutiny, details like this will fall through the cracks. Often we anticipate every possible edge cases but haven't taken into account outside systems that plays a big role too, which leads to cases such as this.
For writing code, you can use nitrous.io or c9.io to use your tablet browser as a full IDE on the cloud. I've tried this use case before and it works ok.
I can still fondly remember 11 years ago when I joined a startup and I was tasked to look for a database to use for our anti-spam product (Outlook plugin). SQLite was still very new back then but compared to other existing free and embeddable database - SQLite was better, faster and works in Windows 2000/XP. So we used SQLite and the experience with SQLite was that good that we also used SQLite as the database for our anti-spyware product.
This is a great resource and just the right timing since I'm planning on building a website on Google App Engine using Python with Flask.
Google AppEngine, Amazon EC2
I'm from Manila, now working in Singapore. I've read Cryptonomicon two times already and enjoyed it immensely.

The subscribe to mailing list is not working, I tried in both Firefox and Chrome.
I also love Google App Engine. I have a paid iOS app that uses GAE, and so far I get by with the free plan.
I just downloaded the trial, but the app requires Mac OS X 10.8, I'm still on 10.7. I suggest to put something in the website that it requires 10.8.
I agree, quite impressive.
I'm thinking the reverse will also be impressive - calling node.js packages from within .NET code.
This is similar to POP, I like POP so I was intrigued and installed Phototapper on my iPhone and iPad.
The feature that stands out is the ability to draw! You can take a photo or just basically draw the whole prototype, it's a fantastic feature on my iPad! Another good feature is the feedback from the website and app demo, I like it!
The prototyping apps space is getting intense now, that's always better for users.
> Regarding the antibiotics, it's not completely clear why giving them to animals makes them bigger
From the 'Germs Are Us' article:
"In August, Ilseung Cho, of the New York University School of Medicine, published a study showing that antibiotics eradicated bacteria, commonly found in the digestive system of mice, that help the animals metabolize calories efficiently; without the microbes, the mice absorbed more calories from the same amount of food and rapidly became obese."

This is a great control! thanks for sharing.
biking, badminton, myth busting and watching the mythbusters!
Similar to my app also, submitted app to iOS App Store took 11 days to go in review, then took 17 days to be accepted to the app store.
My thoughts exactly, especially about the hardships and perseverance experienced by the parents.
I also love my 15" MacBook Pro. I've had it for about 1.5 years now. I will never buy a different brand again.
Nice! I also moved to Singapore just 7 months ago. Great country to work in. Loving it here too.
