Re:Owning a Car Will Soon Be as Quaint as Owning a Horse on Friday March 22, 2019 @01:00PM (#19464451)
I mean I'm all for it, in principle, but this is about as out of touch as it gets.
Me too. What's the correct pronunciation? "Ass-cinema"?
Yes. They're called non-adaptive traits or spandrels: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spandrel_(biology)
Re:MonolithFirst on Wednesday June 03, 2015 @04:56PM (#9655782)
The deciding factor probably isn't technological but rather human. If you want to keep your teams to 5-10 people and you want to maintain autonomy for teams as you scale, you'll need to split up your monolith.
Re:Lightbot: A simple programming game on Monday January 19, 2015 @01:20AM (#8910597)
This is a really clever way to help people get an idea of what programming is all about.

Great work!

Re:Scala: the Case for Correctness on Wednesday October 15, 2014 @12:13AM (#8457128)
Thanks for pointing out the typo, I fixed it.

By academic correctness, I mean the formal definition in computer science, i.e. for an algorithm. More here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correctness_(computer_science)

By this measure, it's hard to say any language is more or less "correct" than another.

I would be very interested as well.

Where's the Homeworld ship? Isn't it supposed to be ~25km?

Should mention this post is from 2009.
Re: I'm Building a GitHub for Writers on Thursday August 29, 2013 @02:27PM (#6297606)
Agreed. Draft tackles versioning and editing in markdown very well. The incremental save feature makes all of this transparent to the writer.
Re:The CODE Keyboard on Tuesday August 27, 2013 @07:03PM (#6286857)
I've been using a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard for a long time and it's relieved a lot of wrist pains I used to have. I'm a little tentative to switch to something without a palm rest and without being able to position my hands farther apart.

This looks pretty good, though. I've been looking for a new mechanical keyboard for a while but haven't found anything that quite fits yet. Would love to hear some reviews once this gets out there.

Re:Introducing Silvrback: Hosted, Markdown-Powered Blogging on Wednesday August 21, 2013 @06:07PM (#6253630)
I like the idea but I still prefer using Github pages for my blog. Not to mention it's free.
Re:iCloud Beta Incorporates iOS 7 Look and Feel on Wednesday August 14, 2013 @02:54PM (#6213474)
Seems like it's still being built in Sproutcore, FWIW.
How would you rate Learndot based on that scale?
