Re:Why do we have so many meetings? on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @06:32PM (#50173606)
i recently decided to see if i could make an "agentic" NBER and use its agents to do research for my other agents in the agentic state. I would love to speak w/ someone there and show them the sims, I do not think all of the meetings are needed and eventually there will just be agent proxy meetings that send messages to some HITL when needed for more guidance, This cold put more value on the real meetings IMO.

Note: THIS IS JUST FOR FUN, because I needed an economic policy thinktank for my agents to query. I had to do the same for CEPR

Re:Claude reveals ECDSA curve origins on Friday October 16, 2026 @03:35PM (#50123405)
How do you know this to be true? I am not disagreeing; I genially need to understand why or if others are seeing blockers that I don't see or if I am seeing blockers that they do not see.

Are their guardrail benchmarks or anything of the sort that we can use to see where the bifurcation of permission/capability occurs?

Re:America.gov – Whatever you need from government, start here on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @12:43PM (#49896234)
I have been working on something like this, but it actually does things and is not only chat. Each "Gov. official" has their own AI agent that can fulfill intents by navigating a protocol which is just a workflow of a Gov. process

example: https://samhsa.dev/ example: https://samhsa.dev/protocol/76526

Still VERY MUCH a work in progress but I have successfully been able to have some people get things done. I am doing some federal agencies and also trying to get cities working now.

Re:How to keep enjoying programming in a world of LLMs on Saturday September 26, 2026 @08:06PM (#49861876)
I think Coding, Programming and Engineering need to be separated.

Coding IMO goes the way of medical billing and coding; e.g.: Codification, and the abstraction of domain logic.

Programming IMO is the implementation of said coding within the context if a given system.

Engineering is the orchestration of all of it.

I do not fully understand this, or even know if its a new / differentiated paradigm but its interesting to me; not in theory but in practice. Especially given "chevron deference" and the current admin.

Re:LA Metro has some of the slowest escalators on Earth on Saturday September 26, 2026 @07:43PM (#49861724)
Also, could have been that most people wanted to avoid pershing square.
Re:LA Metro has some of the slowest escalators on Earth on Saturday September 26, 2026 @07:42PM (#49861719)
Yep, you are correct. I am just now realizing that maybe this is why there was such a culture around it. Lil Tokyo was closest to this spot and we regularly would grab things from Sakura Market for each other, talk random shit etc... one day this guy was scared/sad about a girl he really liked and we convinced him to approach her and so we played Lupe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhuYwE-gAn0) on the whole ride - much to the annoyance of the other passengers.

There was also a respect that I cant forget; almost like it was a rhythm. Never a rush to beat someone else to the train. I remember that for a time due to our schedules we would meet at the top, smoke a J and chat for as long as we could then slide down and catch the redline (now called the B Line*) and part ways.

Note: He got the girl. we all lost contact - hope he/they are dong well.

\Note: I wonder if the redline was renamed because of the level of violence or if it was because of the purple line expansion.

Re:LA Metro has some of the slowest escalators on Earth on Saturday September 26, 2026 @07:02PM (#49861429)
It was not just this one, but the one before it from the street into the station that is IIRC at even more of an incline given that its on that hill.
Re:LA Metro has some of the slowest escalators on Earth on Saturday September 26, 2026 @07:01PM (#49861419)
TY, you are correct; it was Civic Center/Grand Park: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civic_Center/Grand_Park_statio...

Thank you, I got to do down memory lane checking this.

Re:LA Metro has some of the slowest escalators on Earth on Saturday September 26, 2026 @06:05PM (#49860972)
I didn't know this but given the multiple: "This is an accessible station" alerts it makes sense. Hopefully this is something that can change soon.
Re:LA Metro has some of the slowest escalators on Earth on Saturday September 26, 2026 @05:19PM (#49860644)
I lived in DTLA for several years and regularly used Little Tokyo/Arts District station. It was not uncommon during peak hours to see people - myself included sliding down the railing.

I am 43 years old now and was much younger then (27-35) but I remember these days fondly. Now I live in NYC where public transit it so much better that this and many other issues that plague LA (especially the redline) do not exist but I do miss those days and look back on them fondly.

I still have at least 1 scar I can attribute to trying this whilst wearing the wrong pants (in terms of fabric).

Re:Yes, Claude can do nine loops on Friday September 25, 2026 @04:16PM (#49849357)
in terms of UX for blogs, I don't understand why the summary was not posed and then had a click through to the full article.

I really wish this would become the default, it would potentially remove ad-rev but it is so much easier to not only get people knowledgable about the content but intrested in the subject matter to dig deeper.

Re:Claude discovers a novel enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeats on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @04:27PM (#49822041)
No, it's not odd; IMO. It's by design.

I see all of this leading to a setup for: We did cure Cancer, everyone else (Healthcare, Gov., Rx) etc... has just not caught up or even worse; "you just don't have access top that model/version".

I have seen several times on HN recently how people don't see the impact of AI/more code etc... and I believe this is because its following the K-shape of the current economy.

At the top where most of us aren't but CAN see via stock market news etc...; they are making more money by adding efficiencies etc...

At the bottom; efficiencies are being applied at a scale that they could not before such that social and Gov. programs are more manageable and optimized at scale.

Re:Claude Cowork and chat are now one Claude on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @05:48PM (#49733507)
YC already announced something along these lines.

re: https://www.ycombinator.com/early-access

Re:Claude Cowork and chat are now one Claude on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @03:09PM (#49731516)
This is valid.

1. each one is a first-party vendor announcement, submitted very close to the announcement and under the vendors headline.

2. Titles are "verbatim" vendor headlines. No editorializing which follows HN guidelines to the letter.

3. Someone; a script/agent is watching vendor feeds and X accounts then submitting within minutes of the posting.

4. Altman/Navier–Stokes post got [duped] so prob not inside thing.

I was just about to ask this, glad I searched first. I am wondering if there is some kind of "BookFace" control that allows for priority such as this.

Edit: 16 total post and I have seen 5 in the top 10 on HN already.

Edit: No comments, only submissions; this should be a clear sig of some kind IMO.

Re:OpenAI expands ChatGPT ads with Sponsored Agents on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @10:53AM (#49727969)
So you cant control the agents you have, and now they will be sponsored so at least they make money off the chaos?

Re:Let's make quality the norm again on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @04:23PM (#49718397)
Was quality ever the norm? IIRC Enshittification predates AI/LLMS by a few years.
No, this is a NOW problem, not a future one and it will take months if not years to fully understand the impact. We need a NOW solution not prevention. Training AI on all the images and data here will facilitate a class of identity theft we may not have ever seen. This cannot just be abut prevention.
> Probably because it's their only account, and this story is why they are here.

If this is the case then I do apologize because my comment insinuated a directed malfeasance which would in no way be the case if what your assumption is true.

First, I agree with you in theory.

Second, empirically; the diff between murder, manslaughter etc... is literally "intent" so it matters.

Dude, i'm black and a convicted felon looking for a job right now. Miss me with the pity bullshit.
BTW, I literally meant "Israel" and NOT Jews. I live in Brooklyn! I do not and refuse to conflate the two as much as anyone of any group would like me to. As I am sure you know; in no way are all Jews pro Israel and definitely not pro Israeli government and I honestly feel that any assertion of such is both reductive and foments antisemitism.
Why the new account? Why not own your opinion? Cultural values are not the point here but if they were I don't think you would have that conversation in good faith and I don't want you to have to make a another new account for your honest arguement.
Literally said this below, 2 comments flagged and 1 in the neg. Its really sad that we are not allowed to point out the obvious common element here.

Its not that surprising that ex Israel intelligence would want to control AI and that 3 companies headed by pro Israel CEO's would support them.

> They did not "cause AI to hack.

You do not know what they did or didn't do, you are just parroting a narritive that makes you feel comfortable.

I do not know either, but I am not asserting facts as if I have first hand knowledge of the details.

Re:AI is breaking our proxies for expertise on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @11:57AM (#49714517)
tl;dr - HITL

I think that AI should enhance said proxy.

For example: I have Crohn's so crohns.ai has the entire AGA [gastro.org] and each member is an agent that can participate in my program / protocol.

Same for MNT and dietmanager.com

this is NOT a promo, its a model I am trying to prove; AI can enhance the support that domain experts provide if we remove the barriers.

It's really a matter of AI-native Governance and how we handle that.

I thought it was me, I literally think there are things that should no longer be acceptable and this font is one of them. It serves no purpose and I would like to ask medical professionals if it is potentially harmful.

Edit: While fuzzy or blurry text itself is highly unlikely to trigger an epileptic seizure it is a major cause of optical strain, headaches, and reading barriers across various accessibility needs. Given the amount of screen time we all incur in our daily lives, I do not see why this should be a "thing".
