I have many things dependent on Cloudflare. That makes me root for Cloudflare and I think I'm not the only one. Instead of finding better options we're getting stuck on an already failing HA solution. I wonder what caused this.
I wonder how racist it is
Yeah, I'm from Turkey and it's really annoying for me to use a keyboard shortcuts to select "Türkiye" from dropdowns using year old "T", "U", "R" keys. Now in some websites it's "Turkey" and in some websites it's "Türkiye" I need to switch keyboard layouts just to select my country name.
Even though, website doesn't let me use my actual name since my name has non ascii characters so I need to try many times.
I think you are making an excellent suggestion but students still can use ChatGPT before talking to ChatGPT to get highest grades.
What is the definition of self in this context? What makes a human have a self?
(I agree with you. I'm thinking the Ahamkara for the humans. I'm curious about your definition)
This is nice. I would love to be in a mailing list regarding updates
My concern is I'm an Android dev. and I'm trying to use best practices because I don't know what can come up.
If prod goes down for a few days it's mostly OK since I have only one alpha user. But some idea of bad things™ might happen is holding me back from developing the app. I'm not feeling confident about my prod env if I find some customers.
> Where do you store your state on the server?
I don't understand what you mean. I guess we're talking about the database. DB also is deployed as the part of the docker compose stack, volume bound to a local dir.
> What can kubernetes do that you can't do by hand assuming you are available to do it?
Automating the process of deployments are easier than doing it by hand. Since code needs to be compiled I cannot use the old but gold ftp method. Even if I manage it, it's too much of a hassle. Instead I'm using Github Actions to build my image using Spring's container image builder magic. k8s would allow me to put all of my "stuff" to same place (a cluster)
Two of the servers costs in total 5 Euros now :D

Hello, I'm a ~10 years Android developer. These days I'm looking into building my own applications with Spring and Kotlin. Firebase doesn't fix my problems of data integrity hence I've coded the backend of my app too (which is sad considering how promising Firebase was)I'm trying to find a way to deploy my servers. Currently I'm running my production and staging servers as two Hetzner instances...

The app is still in early stage of the development so it's free for now

Isn't this regular old Pareto Distribution?
SAM conversions finally. I'm in tears!
You might be using their magical p2p network.

Hi,
I'm planning to build a 8 bit CPU using TTL logic gates. I'm having difficulty finding a circuit designer and emulator. Emulation is critical for me since I need to debug before implementing the circuit to lower the costs because logic gates are really expensive in my accessible markets.Logisim was promising before but I had hard time using it.Are there any good circuit emulators for my use...
Yeah you can do SQL with Hibernate too. It works but it's a nightmare
If you really want to control how your customers are allowed to use the thing you can put a limit like 3 or 4 apps maximum. For example I think this phone needs at least a way to read e-books but it's possibly not going to be implemented. IF there was an API I could write my own e-book reader for it.
What does poster on page 25 (No: 20, ID 6614809) mean and who is that guy?
If you have any experience with Litho can you compare it to native Java Android UIs?
Does this also mean if we can prove that markets are efficient then P = NP?
I guess self promotion, mostly. Maybe a bit of feeling good and showing off.

What I've learnt at school is mostly centered around UMLs and Use Cases. I'm somewhat afraid that object oriented approaches to analysis will be off when I start to write code with Go. How do you do your project analysis?
Wouldn't they still need to handle customer support for international customers? I see your points but I still believe that updating your car using a USB stick is too complex for average consumer.
>Why not just allow people to download this update, put it on a USB stick, then plug the USB into the car?
I guess a few things:
1- If you give USB to end users to plug it to their cars you eventually going to need to provide some support service for it. If someone has a Tesla that does not make that person who understands about using computers. Tesla cars are still cars.
2- Teslas are cars, again. You can travel to another country with your car. You can put that car in a ship and use it on another continent. (insert Falcon Heavy joke here) As Tesla, the company you still need to provide updates to those intercontinental Teslas.
Mobile internet plans mostly charge for upstream too. (I'm from Turkey)
I agree with your observations. Even though we also have to consider that this video and the text for it was probably written or edited or at least administered by Walt Disney himself. You can see that Mickey is kind of communicating with Walt Disney on the video. That means the cartoon on the video was made just to show this piece of technology. I think we can say that this video is a way to show the technology of Disney at that time. It's kind of an advertisement for a big coporation.
On the other hand Youtube videos are made by people trying to make a living through those videos. None of these Youtubers can have the resources and motivation compared to Walt Disney himself to shoot a scene which can be watched and enjoyed even after 71 years later because your videos has to be produced quickly.
Be aware it's nothing to do with rocket science.
