Chrome extension - first test; probably has issues as the Firefox one can be updated much quicker, so is more up to date.
Note - it is supposed to be Adject:
Adds adjectives to mentions of Boris Johnson on a web page.
*for a very limited value of mighty....
Nope, that's the point - it's a play on words.
'Abject failure' combines with 'Adjective' to describe a noun:
Adject Failure
The add-on adds adjectives to mentions of the mighty* trumpster
Web extension created while in treatment because why not. First try so if it breaks anything - sorry.
Mainly seems to work.
Chrome version in 'Pending Review'...see how long that takes...

Started on a Wikipedia wormhole and came across a small note about beaufighter T4800 and I knew nothing about it.
The story is interesting enough, not least as it's the pilot's own words, but the photo of the Grand Palais on the Champs-Élysées from below roof level is pretty impressive.

Yep - If all my competitors are down the equation changes such that I _definitely_ want to be up.
Any trade comes to me if it's urgent, and I appear more professional as I've got a functioning system.
I might be an chancer running my entire system off an shoestring but being up when everyone else has taken a dive looks good.
When i was growing up something similar happened in our town - over pressure caused by connecting a high pressure gas line to the local supply - police closed off the whole town and a few bits and pieces blew up/caught fire.
http://www.hertsmemories.org.uk/content/herts-history/towns-...
That was human error rather than failing infrastructure.
My initial thought in this case, before hearing about the underinvestment by the utility company, was SCADA kit tampering/hacking. Running the pressure slightly high would be a very similar approach to the spinning of centrifuges at slightly over speed - not immediately detectable but with serious consequences. Judging by the comments on this thread it looks more like ineptitude/negligence by the utility.
As someone on a phase 2 trial an interesting note is that I know I'm on the trial drug (it's not a double blind trial), I also know that the drug worked in animal and vitro trials.
Furthermore I know, from the trial literature, that a very similar drug works (the trial drug is an anti-PD-1 immunotherapy) well with the particular genetic markers on my tumours.
The trial is to assess the efficacy of this treatment, not run a comparison to other treatments, but having burnt through 2 rounds of chemo in short order to no effect it is more a comparison against that.
Whether the placebo effect is relevant is an interesting question because under the trial the treatment is, by necessity, more personalised.
Previous studies have shown that, essentially, human contact/interest adds to the placebo effect.
The app-before-this-one (before the server went down) was a reasonably competent bit of kit, basically a lift and shift of Lloyds, which when retired late last year became something with flashy animation on everything (animated log in place holder, 2FA selectors floating in from off screen - WHY!) but less functionality.
Basically this is what you get if you learn to code in the early eighties, then try picking up thirty years later.
I was asked by a friend who is in the band if I had done any graphics work or was interested in doing anything for a music video.
Graphics are not something I have done before except [cough] years ago on the BBC Micro, which is where the 8-bit geometric graphics and code came from.
The conversion from the video of the singer to ASCII was done via ffmpeg to de-frame/re-frame the video and a hacked together C# program that works well enough[0] to convert each frame to letter of the right font, size, words/letters (which are the lyrics - the letters in each line are used for the ASCII rendering of the singer while that line is being sung).
The combination of the two sets of graphics into a far better music video was done by a guy called Chris Bate from FilmBee.
I've submitted this as there was a discussion[1] a few weeks ago about ASCII art being dead or alive while I was putting this together.
[0]'Well enough' - I couldn't get it to run and flat line all the CPUs when running parallel processing. I caused a catastrophic memory leak by modifying a couple of the methods thinking I'd improve something. I dread to think what it has done to the lifetime of the two SSD while it's been firing GBs of data at.

Yeah - I came across two senators in my "people who submitted your details" list.
Seriously what? How do they have my details and how is it verified that they got them legitimately?
I'm in the UK, a UK citizen, have no contact with the US political system, and have only briefly passed through the US. So how have two senators got my details?
The email address used is not my spam email, it is, as far as I know not used on sign up does etc. - so how was it found (though I am aware of the extreme irony of calling an email address used on Facebook as a not for spam one)?
Facebook and all those who are on that list are going to get a GDPR request come the end of May.
I didn't - I'd started off converting the videos to 8-bit colouring and in the process was experimenting with pixelisation and went off on a fairly extreme bit of a tangent.

I've been messing around with converting videos to ASCII for a side project - it's been a fun learning experience. Obviously I don't think ASCII art's going any where...

As of the latest update macOS has started to nag me to allow automatic updates, so I think the comparison is probably valid.
FWIW I told it No, for the same reason my Win10 laptop has been nagging me to update but I've not let it install for a month - until I've finished whatever work I'm doing I'm not going to let a possibly badly written patch stack the OS and leave me rebuilding the machine from scratch (yes - I'm looking at you Windows - TWICE) or dealing with whatever beta-level release macOS is going to throw out that breaks remote access etc. that I need on my build server.
I had the cursor skip on an older Dell model (not Ubuntu, Windows), but the cause might be the same - the Nub mouse buton (if that makes sense - the little finger mouse? What ever it's called) in the middle of the keyboard would pick up the slightest tap and move the cursor - I ended up disabling it and the problem went away; I've never really experienced it on any other laptop.
Agreed about the clickbait title - he didn't steal from the Silk Road wallet:
"Bridges was arrested and taken into custody on charges related to the theft of approximately 1,600 bitcoin from a digital wallet belonging to the U.S. government"
Putting it at the back isn't always a good idea - Ford Pinto anyone?
Another result was that she (Mary Mallon) was imprisoned/quarantined for the remainder of her life (after being released from her first quarantine and being told not to work as a cook, changing her name, working as a cook, causing more outbreaks and deaths). 23 years...
She refused medical procedures that could have removed the infection (removal of gall bladder) and as such died in imprisonment/confinement.
I'm not suggesting we should lock up anti-vaxxers, but if there is an outbreak of polio then those people who refuse to be vaccinated put at risk those who cannot be vaccinated.
I'm going to have to call that out...Windows 10 updates have bricked two different Dell laptops for me (Anniversary update did for the first, the second started throwing admin errors following an update then BSOD on reboot; neither case did roll back or restore points work - and that's in the last three months).
I'm not saying Linux is painless, but neither is Windows.
Digging around behind the tv and it's a oversize plug and thin wire rather than a laptop style plug-cable-transformer-cable-computer set up. Not quite the mains-to-box set up you're after.
Forgot to mention - fanless.
I've used a gigabyte Brix n2807 - it's slightly larger than other Brix models as it takes a 2.5" drive (using an old laptop drive to save costs). It's not powerful, but it runs Kodi and Windows 10 okay. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don't work (or didn't when I first tried) with Linux out of the box. Up to 8gb LPDDR. No power brick.
£80 on offer a couple of years ago.
I wouldn't mind if it <i>was</i> one if my dual boot machines, that might almost be unstable, but both these failures were on single OS laptops.
Never mind hardening windows, how about stopping Windows update behaving like some sort of particularly malicious malware by forcing me to rebuild my machines at random after an update?
AU forced one machine to be fully reinstalled, last week's update rendered another machine inoperable with admin access denied on windows system programs (mmc etc.) followed by boot device error (disc was fine) with no restore or roll-back available, so had to rebuild that one too.
Getting very tempted to set windows update addresses to point to Host.
Seems we've created Marvin. Who knew Google were the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation.
Life! Don’t talk to me about life.
