Hey Chris,

Congratulation for launching your beta!

This seems quite similar to what we do here: https://cloudbackend.appdrag.com/

But it's look like your auto generated API support only CRUD operations, this can be very limited even for common use cases like: "Create a new order" make some business validations, store in the db, generate a pdf, send an email ...

Website seems to be down ... Slashdot effect ... But i really like the idea :)
I left OVH years ago after several outages (network, electricity and sometimes hardware failures) Also the OVH support was between horrible to nonexistent. All our servers went to AWS, cost more money for the hosting but a lot less in staff and no more downtimes since years! If you have serious workload and critical systems to run OVH is a joke

This already exist since years in france: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HADOPI_law

In practice less than 20 peoples have been disconnected because of this law in 9 years

So you can download and cache locally some resources then reuse them on next call while the function is still active (20 to 40 minutes based on my tests.

It's seems very interesting, but to be honest after watching the demo video, most of the thing "automated" (I don't see any AI here) are related to poor practices... Some other features seems interesting, let's see how the product evolve.
Why would they do simple, fast & efficient things like that when they can bring ML and AI to the party? :)
Re:Serverless QBasic on Monday July 16, 2018 @02:08AM (#17539101)
Thanks for this fun article :) I noticed your serverless function response time is between 2000 to 3000ms, I wonder why and it would be super interesting to have more details about time taken by each step of the process (python proxy / dosbox / qbasic / openwhisk)

Point of comparison, nodejs function executed on AWS Lambda: https://00demo-32387b.appdrag.com/api/Morse?txt=SOS-Test

I never read a book more than once... Am I the only one?
We made a serverless backend with an API builder based on aws lambda. We have hundreds of production system running on it, so we are pretty happy with serverless :)

If you need an instant Backend (database + api builder) but also a CMS in the cloud you can check our combo:

Cloud Backend: https://cloudbackend.appdrag.com and Cloud CMS: https://appdrag.com

It's a fully serverless solution, nothing to install on your side, you can do everything in the browser directly. and we have a free tier :)

Also we have no lock-in, you can export everything in a ZIP, static files, db backup in mysql format, API source code in your language (Node.js, Python, Java, C#, Go, ...)

Re:The GDPR blog post on Friday May 25, 2018 @10:41AM (#17154137)
I have reported as SPAM all the GDPR emails i got from unknown companies, i never asked to receive all this shit (250 GDPR messages just this week)

GDPR = a lot of spam in my inbox

Just today alone i got something like 50 GDPR emails from companies telling me they have updated their policies. And its like that since a week. Am i the only one thinking this is crazy and useless?

Google is ways worst than Microsoft. At least MS offer business support. Google looks like a broken AI changing its mind every 3 months
Hahaha you made my day, so true
Interesting and nice landing page ... But you really need to change the name. It's racist!

Re:Secure Access to 100 AWS Accounts on Sunday March 11, 2018 @01:12PM (#16563779)
Hey segment, are you aware that you can have several env (dev, stag, prod, ...) on the same AWS account? :p You can secure each environement with different credentials (IAM) so no need to create several AWS accounts!
