Goofy youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@dailyspacejazz

Building on my 2.5D renderer and now going to introduce 3d models for funsies.

I wrote explain o matic for this, it's an open source vscode extension. It creates sections of code and uses your os tts. It allows you to break down sections further as well. With a bit more work on my end could be quite a potent tool.

even small projects cost a lot of time ( marketing !! ), better to focus on something you really care about rather than opportunistic items

Show HN: I built TreeSnap – turn your code into a prompt ready bundle

https://www.treesnap.app

I built over 3-4 weeks to solve my own pain point, picking up rust along the way. It has a browser version that works online/offline and cross platform desktop as well. It was a pretty intense sprint.About TreeSnap, well it simplifies this preparation of sharing code with Chat LLMs. In my use case, making o3 via ChatGPT a lot more cost-effective to use for these tasks compared to Cursor:How it...

Re:Ask HN: What is bad about Homebrew? on Monday April 21, 2025 @01:23PM (#43754286)
I've been a light user for ~5 years maybe? Never really had issues, it's convenient, if a little obtuse relative to say npm install -g.
Re:Show HN: I made "specloop" – O1 prompts to codegen on Friday March 21, 2025 @11:19AM (#43436738)
Hello HN,

I made a local nextjs app that walks you step by step through ideation, specification, and implementation planning for a fresh dev project. It's a utility that pieces together prompts so that o1 can do the heavy lifting.

Ideally you would use the prompts from https://www.jointakeoff.com/prompts ( no affiliation ) or craft your own if you have inclination. You the put the prompts into the app and run through the steps.

Warning! It works really well if you have a good project scaffold already to feed into it. I'd be great to collect a bunch of excellent starter templates for this purpose.

Check my tweet on it for a quick step by step illustrated view! https://x.com/weloveoov/status/1902059178849444119

My issue is that I may or may not understand what's going on, but I simply, for the most part, do not want to spend time maintaining any more than I have to.
There is also https://github.com/regenrek/codefetch which I personally like

Nice job shipping ^^ Are you sure you don't want to price by use / credits? Would be more enticing personally if I were to be satisfied by the demo. I'll check it out.

Re:Ask HN: Tools you have made for yourself? on Sunday February 02, 2025 @12:03PM (#42909888)
Just built this over the weekend: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=weloveoo...

Takes your open code file, chunks it, explains each chunk over tts.

A weekend experiment. I wrote a VS Code extension that uses LLMs + native TTS to voice-explain your code ( especially for LLM generated ones after a long night of coding ).

1. Quickly grok unfamiliar code - Auto-splits into well named, logical sections that you can traverse, hear the explanation, or break down further.

2. Can utilize reasoning models for better output (slower)

3. Vercel AI SDK wrapper for multi-provider support.

This was fun to build, and see promise in some sort of more accessible design like this in future copilots. I'm really keen on the learning tools of the future.
