Always remember to not rely solely on a rockstar launch to determine the course of your product. Platform like producthunt, betalist could be miss or hit... and most of the times the kind of traffic you get may contribute to wrong signals.
Re:Ask HN: Where there is public data about companies ? on Sunday January 20, 2019 @01:09PM (#18954474)
mca.gov.in for India. You can find things like directors, annual filings, financial statements etc.
Re:Ask HN: Languages to learn in 2019 for Data Science? on Tuesday December 25, 2018 @01:55AM (#18756330)
JavaScript. I know this could be a little controversial but with more and more people learning JavaScript and porting of tensor flow, torch into javascript, I believe this is the language which will take data science to masses of developers.
Re:Ask HN: Recommended way to develop Android apps in 2018? on Tuesday December 25, 2018 @01:51AM (#18756319)
React Native. It's great to go for simple to medium complexity apps. Flutter could be another closer choice because it appears to be more Dev friendly and android's ownership of Google. React will help you share large amount of code and concepts within web, iOS and android.
A secondary wide monitor (Acer).Having dual monitor setup definitely multiplies productivity. You can go with any brand but make sure it's atleast 24" plus and Full HD.
Windows operating system. I mean so many people are using that since a long time. Still its performance is too glitchy and slow.

Re:Ask HN: How do you earn your money online? on Sunday March 04, 2018 @12:25PM (#16515488)
Online money making is not easy and you'll have to consistently search for new ideas and skills. Here is my list: 1)Writing blogs/content: search for blogs in your interest area and offer them ideas and content, having a good Quora profile or personal blog will reflect quality. 2)Search for "who is hiring" in HN and other related forums and directly mail them if that work can be done remotely at discounted cost. 3) Dropshiiping: Learn digital marketing. Explore Shopify, AliExpress, oberlo and printful. Dropping is not easy but a has a lot of potential if you can get repeat customers and a general intelligence towards digital marketing. 4) Explore indiehackers.com and see how people like us are cracking this stuff.

Incase you need help in getting resources for these do let me know.

Your ARR per annum per customer is upto $100k, trust me this is not going to be an easy sales to make, your sales cycles will be longer and will be challenging for even professional sales people. Given these conditions the credentials for the gentleman doesn't look up to mark and you should see more people, go to LinkedIn find seasoned sales people and engage them on target/comission basis before offering something as permanent amd valuable as equity.
Re:Show HN: Robinhood on Desktop on Tuesday February 27, 2018 @02:26PM (#16476940)
I am loving how easy electron has made for developers to create native desktop apps. Gone are the days when js/frontend developers would have to rely on someone to write java/c# apps for them. More power to the ecosystem.
Eat less meat.

Meat production uses more resources (land, water, energy) than plant based food production. It also contributes to global warming, as well as other kinds of environmental pollution.

Re:Ask HN: Which books to follow for startup UI/UX? on Wednesday February 07, 2018 @09:43PM (#16329787)
Here are some: 1) Don't make me think twice: http://amzn.to/2E99h5F 2) 100 things every designer must know: http://amzn.to/2GZbXkn 3) Design of everyday things: http://amzn.to/2GYIZB2

While UI/UX is more of a field where you get better by practice and observation, yet these books can surely help you build a solid foundation.

Four friends exchange goods between each other and keep a book of records for every transaction. The person who keeps that book can easily alter transactions to his favour, but if everyone keeps one copy of transactions record it becomes difficult to cheat unless more than 50% people cheat. The distributed record of transactions/ledger us known as block chain.
Re:Ask HN: What do you really need from a UI kit in 2018? on Tuesday January 30, 2018 @11:33AM (#16266599)
I created one myself as a side project [https://underexpress.com] and learned following things:

- How do you manage the updates in your ui-kit if base framework is changed [bootstrap, foundation, jquery, other plugins.]

- Modularity: If i need only a few components i should have the option to include only those and not any unnecessary bloat.

- Availability as package [npm etc.]

- Example apps and landing pages. Some UI kits give email ui, todo list ui etc.

- The kit should be lightweight + clean css [sass/less] + clean html.

- Browser compatibility.

- Easy customization.

If you are looking to develop something collaboratively I would be willing to participate.

I hope this helps you.
