News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

anhldbk

I also implemented a static web with that idea: https://github.com/anhldbk/get-beam
I guess Anthropic will scrutinize big open source projects for that purpose. The direct official integrations will be removed.
I guess it's time for Anthropic to open source Claude Code.
Well, it depends. There's no right or wrong answer here.

Simon wrote an article "What is agentic engineering?" [1]

> Now that we have software that can write working code, what is there left for us humans to do? > The answer is so much stuff. > Writing code has never been the sole activity of a software engineer. The craft has always been figuring out what code to write. Any given software problem has dozens of potential solutions, each with their own tradeoffs. Our job is to navigate those options and find the ones that are the best fit for our unique set of circumstances and requirements

Such navigations may require various skills. For example: people/product skills (e.g customer empathy) to determine what to build, or engineering skills (e.g optimizations). Please be open for learning and get stronger via feedbacks.

So true.

Show HN: Beam – The most private way to share files

Ever needed to send a file to someone standing right next to you, but didn't want to use email or a cloud server?Check out Beam. It turns your screen into a data stream, allowing you to transfer files securely to another device using just your camera. It works completely offline, meaning your data never leaves the room.Simple, secure, and surveillance-free.Give it a try:...

Yes, it's one of my favorite trick also.

Well said. It's not good to see such arguments like these.

No bluetooth. Just use cameras & screens.
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (July 2025) on Monday July 28, 2025 @12:50AM (#44707314)
I'm working on Beam, a web app that lets you transfer files between nearby devices using QR codes - completely offline, with no servers involved, and leaving absolutely no trace.

Beam is perfect for sharing sensitive documents, transferring files when you can't use USB, email, or cloud storage.

Try it here: https://get-beam.vercel.app

Most Vietnamese do the same things too.
Re:Foundation DB Record Layer SQL API on Wednesday May 07, 2025 @07:59PM (#43921694)
At last Foundationdb has SQL Layer. AFAIK the initial discussion was in 2018 [1]

[1] SQL layer in FoundationDB, https://forums.foundationdb.org/t/sql-layer-in-foundationdb/...

Good finding. I don't see its timeline usually discussed in other Ethical hacking and responsible disclosures.
Re:Ollama releases Python and JavaScript Libraries on Thursday January 25, 2024 @12:13AM (#39126406)
Interesting. But the gguf file for llama2 is 4.78 GB in size.

For ollama, llama2:7b is 3.8 GB. See: https://ollama.ai/library/llama2/tags. Still I see ollama requires less RAM to run llama 2
