Re:Google maps cut prices by 88% on Saturday June 23, 2012 @03:16PM (#4151546)
I don't like google more and more...when they didn't feel any competition out there, they gave you a very high price. And when there are some other choices, they reduce the price sharply. Why not just give the developers the low price first?

Take the GAE as the example, if you enable billing, you have to pay at least $9 a month, no matter how much more you are using over the quota.

Now, Google is not friendly to developers at all.

nice work, clean ui, i am curious too about the data source. I also set up a news web app too, with a facebook timeline: http://www.popbuzz.me
[email protected]

i check this mailbox every day :D

oh, it is super easy, there is a jquery-based code that you can use, called jquery masonry, i don't have to write the codes by myself, so, don't give me that credit :D
thanks for the comment!!

:P

Because it doesn't take too much time to add the support of different countries.

I am in the U.S. right, so probably the main users will be us-based.

Re:The Pros and Cons of Working for Yourself on Friday June 24, 2011 @04:49AM (#2691524)
pros: time freedom

cons: no one to discuss, share ideas or set up a strict deadline

I can finish my app bookspp.com in less than 10 days, but it took me more than 2 weeks...

Re:Show HN: bookspp.com on Wednesday June 22, 2011 @07:34PM (#2685888)
I was looking for a job because I am graduating this summer, and after I had some interviews, I realized that I need to learn some programming like c/c++, data structures and algorithms, socket programming and multi-threading programming. I like hackerbooks.com but found that the database is quite limited there. So I spent around two weeks to set up the website.

The idea is to use the amazon tagging to connect books. it seems to be a very light-weight app, :D
