Rust project 'dust' (du-in-rust) has hit version 1.0.0
Didn't Russia make a habbit of killing journalists who criticized either the old or new regimes from 1990 to present day? Pretty sure that was prevalent. Maybe they weren't tracking online much in the early days though.
I believe he joined as a late founder, he wasn't on the original team.

I also noticed this.

We came up with a variant to fix this. You have to say what the next person in the circle said they'd do yesterday before your talk.

This forced everyone to pay more attention as you don't know who would be standing next to you tomorrow. It wasn't easy to do but I think it did make people more aware of what was going on.

That's why I wrote this: https://github.com/bootandy/dust Because it was frustrating to track down what had used disk space.
I've taken 2 sabbaticals from work. In the UK at least most companies are totally fine with you doing this.

I don't see why water used for cooling can't later be used as irrigation water
Re:Pig War on Friday October 04, 2019 @07:41AM (#21156629)
I'm quite relieved that the higher ups were able to successfully de-escalate the situation. It is so easy to read about situations where some pompous military officer trys to escalate and kick start a conflict. But fortunately a situation that has gotten out of hand is de-escalated smoothly.

Personally, I agree with your summary of the Fountainhead.

If you choose to read Atlas Shrugged, however, her opinions start to get more extreme and unsettling.

That gets tricky though, Can tradespeople can use their vans to do their food shopping? Can private citizens become a painter/decorator so they are then allowed a vehicle? Can a private citizen have a vehicle if their sister is disabled?

Usually depends on the type of option. If they are 'double cliff' then the employee stock option will vest automatically, if they aren't then the emplyee will lose them.

Simplistic yes, but also true. He became throughly disillusioned with socialism because he felt that someone like Stalin would always take control of it.

My interpretation was that he was always anti-authority, but his experiences led him to believe that an authoritian figure will always try to grab power and it doesn't matter what `side` they say they are for, power is their aim.

True he liked the spirit of his socialist militia but by the end I think he felt its spirit had been crushed and abused by others.

I highly recommend Homage to Catalonia if you liked Animal Farm. It really explains how Orwell became disillusioned with communism (while fighting for it).

...cockpit, displays, controls, ejector seat. Designing it so the G-Force won't squash the pilot, strengthening the weak and vulnerable cockpit.

Supporting both seems wrong to me.

Foxconn, SAP ? These are good examples aren't they.

Edit: Not nvidia. Realised OP was asking for None-US companies

Re:Anti-If: The missing patterns (2016) on Wednesday June 27, 2018 @05:14PM (#17411917)
I have used this pattern too. I like it.

One small problem is that depending on how your threading and cache works it might be possible for the cache to be cleared after the contains call but before the get.

Catch 22. - I can re-read that over and over laughing at the silliness of their situation.

Also If you enjoyed Catch I recommend Vernon God Little

Errr, They (probably) did that a few weeks ago:

several conventional luxury cars already have this feature - they detect crashes and call emergency services.
Re:Advanced SQL window function quiz on Saturday February 10, 2018 @12:18PM (#16348258)
It is now more locked down (at least "pg_catalog, public, information_schema" are no longer available). Thanks.
Re:Advanced SQL window function quiz on Friday February 09, 2018 @04:37PM (#16344042)
Noted, I am currently running on the assumption that there is nothing interesting in that PG (There isn't). But yes I would like to lock that user down further it really shouldn't be able to access those things.
Re:Advanced SQL window function quiz on Friday February 09, 2018 @12:15PM (#16341945)
Good points. I'll update Q3 and look at Q4 it was not intentional to use keywords.
Re:Advanced SQL window function quiz on Friday February 09, 2018 @10:10AM (#16340691)
No problem, just restarted it.

Its a brand new project so I may need to do some hardening.
