I get needing to price more, but it really feels like a slow shift to M&A, when they couple it with license changes and “case by case basis” to make it back to OSS.

I’m not sure why growth at all costs needs to be the business model for every company?… make a great product, if you need to charge more over time cool, but don’t rug pull.

Agree. It’s early stages, but I love the approach!

tl;dr right problem, wrong solution.

An essay exploring what happens to human society, economics, and purpose when self-improving AI and advanced robotics eliminate many physical and material constraints.

Happy to have a thoughtful conversation!

Have a bit of a contrarian view on this tl;dr don’t write code for human consumption if you use AI; BUT you have to accept AI coding lock in and change how you work.

Funny enough, discussed this yesterday

Show HN: NowThis – OSS task manager for Nextcloud and iOS supporting subtasks

https://nowthis.app/

I couldn't find a simple and fully featured task manager that supported subtasks for Nextcloud on iOS, so here it is! The mobile task options for iOS either felt like slow web-wrappers or didn't properly respect CalDAV subtask hierarchies (esp ETag). I wanted something that felt as fast and native as Apple Reminders but kept my data strictly on my own server. Support for calendar integration...

Re:Expanding Project Glasswing on Tuesday June 02, 2026 @10:37AM (#48370851)
They keep writing like they stand to profit from this or something. Too many “coulds” in there for me too, this could be an amazing advancement and it could be nothing… normally we look at data and last headline I saw was 25 “high” vulnerabilities at the cost of $1 million in tokens.

No comparison to human teams, and I’m sure that $1 million in tokens was used by humans, in a team. So like most AI, they’ve developed a tool that capable people can use to be better, but unlike most tools, they’re claiming this to be outright magic. The magic is the hype train.

Google Enterprise accounts are sunsetting AI Ultra in favor of consumption based pricing at the end of the month. It’s unclear how limits for AI Ultra might change for gmail users. Flash3.5 is much better at coding, but also more expensive the pervious flash models.

So much for AI getting cheaper.

It never ceases to amaze me how such poor management can exist, and how such a large company with people who depend on them can simply just not exist overnight. I only did they file for bankruptcy twice, they somehow completely ran out of money overnight?

Well, all the people who had future booked tickets get a refund?

Wanted to share some reflections on the surprise success of launching a paid OSS podcasting app on the Apple App Store. Happy to take questions and would love feedback!!

Re:Sad Story of My Google Workspace Account Suspension on Sunday April 05, 2026 @10:36AM (#47649902)
If you’re operating Google workspace without a well oiled Enterprise behind the scenes, a single admin account is a single point of failure.

I had this happen a couple years ago when I was migrating to a different domain. The only difference was all of the authentication that I supplied Google said was an adequate and I got into some sort of a login loop where Authenticator, SMS, DNS record nor pass key would provide enough authentication for me to get in.

I got the automated got bought to finally send me the mythical form, after completing that I was told that they were unable to authenticate me further. I ended up emailing their support multiple times and threatening lawsuits multiple times when I got a magic call from a human at Google. They also sent me the link that put me into a login loop however after chatting with them for nearly an hour I got a different magic login link form which appeared to work.

GitHub - Fork of signal-mcp to enable "lunch time mode" to interact with Google Antigravity while away from your desk via Signal. Not intended to be a background agent or continues worker. Chatting 'Lunch Time' or /lunchtime will enter agent into lunchtime mode to watch for signal messages and work on the responses.
Discussion starts at 06:30 - Treating neurological conditions with open-source TDCS.

GitHub repository: https://github.com/nathanfu88/opentdcs

The future isn't just written in code; it's wired in hardware. But what happens when you combine open-source philosophy with neurological treatment? In this episode, Nathan unveils his latest project: a low-cost, open-source Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS) device designed to treat conditions like depression and anxiety. We explore how standardizing the hardware and software for these devices can help facilitate clinical trials and solve the massive accessibility gap in mental health care. We also dive into the messy reality of physical product development. From the challenges of sourcing components in an AI-dominated supply chain to the nuances of choosing an Apache license for open-source hardware, we break down what it actually takes to bring a medical hardware concept to life. You will learn why multidisciplinary feedback is absolutely crucial during the sticky "middle phase" of execution, and how this simple circuit could democratize treatment.

Re:Why AI Agents Won't Replace Software Engineers [video] on Sunday February 08, 2026 @12:10PM (#46936266)
We strip away the doomerism to look at the mechanics of the transition. We explore why generating a compiler isn't the same as maintaining a product, why "vibe coding" fails at scale, and why we might be hitting the diminishing returns of LLM scaling laws. The era of writing syntax is ending, replaced by an era of systems architecture, context engineering, and high-level judgment.

Show HN: Built YourPods an open-source iOS gPodder / Nextcloud podcast client

https://github.com/asecretcompany/yourpods-source

Couldn't find an iOS client that supported gpodder or Nexcloud (NextPod), so I built one. While it's flutter/dart built the focus of development is iOS and ecosystem features eg WatchOS support, CarPlay, AirPlay streaming, etc. You can download it from the Apple App store (iOS/iPadOS/macOS) for a few bucks (TestFlight is also available) or compile yourself from repo (tested on iOS & Linux,...
