Re:Lotus Notes and the dangers of starting from scratch on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @07:22AM (#49624628)
Our company has now migrated its Lotus applications to web applications written in Java, but it took us quite a few years.

As written in the article, the UI sucked to many to us. Then our corporate migred to GMAIL and never looked back.
The website is unreachable at this moment
Re:Classic Amiga titles, free to download on Sunday July 19, 2026 @02:22AM (#48965467)
From webpage I read: " Search or browse games, applications, demos, graphics, music and tools from the golden age of 32-bit home computing."

But Amiga has a 16 bit CPU... or not?

Tried DOOM in that page, it's really slow...

There had already been an attempt in 2023 https://www.lemon64.com/game/the-secret-of-monkey-island

Based on reviews, it was a bad conversion

Re:SETI Home Flags 100 Signals After Sorting 12B Others on Friday January 16, 2026 @12:40AM (#46643348)

Re:KDE is now my favorite desktop on Thursday September 18, 2025 @10:26AM (#45290130)
I've used gnome for 7 years in Fedora. Often certain extensions stopped working betweenv after Fedora big upgrades (i.e. from 32 to 33). The JavaScript engine that runs extensions had many memory leaks bugs so I had to kill the gnome-shell process on a TTY session.

After 7 years I was fed up and switched to KDE and never looked back

The problem is that it's still using unsupported qt4 libraries
Re:KDE Plasma 6.4 Released on Wednesday June 18, 2025 @02:52AM (#44307286)
I used Fedora GNOME for 7 years and I didn't like the experience, so I migrated to KDE Neon from two years and never looked back again.
Is there an ide with form designer like visual basic?

Re:Show HN: A playable game of Tetris inside a PDF on Thursday January 09, 2025 @11:48AM (#42647433)
Can we run Windows 3.1 in protected mode from a PDF?
Can it run on a MS-DOS machine with 640 KB of RAM?
I miss those times. Every IDE had a line by line debugger. Now those Angular/React applications, even after years, do not have one; and they still have a confusing syntax.
Re:MtCellEdit – Lightweight Spreadsheet Program on Saturday September 28, 2024 @11:55AM (#41681006)
