Little tip, but at least with my AMD card and the right DP->HDMI cable you can get CEC tunneled over Display Port without the dongle.

My ActiveSync app does server side search using server side indexes just fine.
Re:Ideas on modernizing the open-source desktop on Thursday September 24, 2026 @06:53AM (#49828861)
In the gnome file explorer there's 3 different menus, marked only by generic icons, and I always forget the one to open a new tab.
Re:What do Visa and Mastercard do? An intro to card networks on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @04:10PM (#49633466)
Well, in Germany the "girocard", the local card network, is the most popular form of payment. So I guess, citation needed?
I do love LibreOffice, but who thought this colouring is a good idea? https://i.imgur.com/cUzW97S.png

If anyone else wants to be rid of it (courtesy of astra): Set NotebookbarColorTransparency to 255. This removes the colored tint while keeping the ribbon.

Go to Extras → Optionen → LibreOffice → Erweitert → Experteneinstellungen. Search for NotebookbarColorTransparency. Double-click the matching row under org.openoffice.Office.Common → Misc. Change 150 to 255. Confirm with OK, close the settings, and restart LibreOffice.

One who doesn't is frustratingly Hetzner.

My thoughts entirely, I prefer to use CalyxOS, which for some reason in the eyes of GrapheneOS is pure evil.

Re:Play Store blocks AuroraStore, hurting GrapheneOS users on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @01:01PM (#49524718)
GrapheneOS is focused on absolute security. For those of us on more privacy-oriented ROMs with MicroG, we're very happy with Aurora.
Concerning that they managed to get a LE certificate issued.
I tried that once but the cifs kernel mod was so old it didnt support modern auth methods.
Re:As a Windows user, it's a surreal way to install a program on Saturday August 08, 2026 @10:23AM (#49222082)
Before we I introduced an MDM at work, I can tell you, 80% of users were running apps from .dmgs from their desktop.

I'll leave it to the reader to decide if that means the process is "intuitive".

Re:Choosing a Public DNS Resolver on Sunday June 28, 2026 @05:50AM (#48705893)
Shame there is no client subnet filter. I've had issues in the past with various websites when using resolvers that don't add that hint.
That's why i said "bank cash maahines", for want of a better word.
It is indeed ridiculous. In the UK all bank cash machines are free no matter which bank you're from. My Girocard charges me 7€ for out of house withdrawals.
Re:Your ePub Is Fine. Kobo Disagrees. Blame Adobe on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @08:47AM (#48554390)
I think it was both. If you ever used Flash on an Android phone at the time, it was a very quick way to empty your battery and make your phone a nice heater.
> Some European countries right now have their currency printing and their passport printing outsourced to foreign nations.

Whilst I still agree with your premise that this is not wise, I should point out that, for example UK passports, whilst produced in Poland, are personalised in the UK. Not that that helps the UK case since the personalisation is done by Thales...

Is that really true? We make sure all our APs are on different channels to prevent interference.

Gemini was the fraudulent usage, OP doesn't indicate they actually use it.
https://anytype.io/ is the open-source CC of Notion AFAIK.
I dont understand what you're suggesting either given the whole point was to avoid having separate hw).

And if you're not going to spell it out due to your morals, don't comment.

Why the need for a Cloud HSM?
Re:The Document Foundation ejects its core developers on Wednesday April 01, 2026 @01:18PM (#47603747)
This is ironic timing given the OnlyOffice/Euro-Office drama https://www.heise.de/en/news/Euro-Office-OnlyOffice-accuses-...
Re:/e/OS is a complete "deGoogled", mobile ecosystem on Monday March 02, 2026 @07:56AM (#47217400)
But can't relock the bootloader on a Pixel 9 since it is "community supported" :(
