I just wanted to appreciate the wording of the title. there is just soo much content out there that isn't exactly an ad but is still incredibly annoying. If anything, to me ublock is an 'annoyance blocker'. It is deplorable how much cruft is pushed to the reader in the guise of content. I am glad ublock exists. If it doesn't serve the user, it goes!

I still wonder why no one speaks about Altair and their grammar of graphics thinking. I think they are wonderfully intuitive and I wish I had discovered them earlier.

I've been on HN for almost 7 years now but recently I have noticed this particular link/text on the front page a lot. It goes something along the lines of "Jerry(YC S17) is hiring..." is this an ad? And if it is an ad I have not once seen any comments or interactions with this post. Why then does it continue to show up if no one is visibly interested in this thing?

I'm always worried about loosing something nice I've found. HN is so unique in that you have topics ranging from sea shells to semi conductors and beyond. 9/10 times I view the comments even before opening the article. It speaks of where my priorities are at and I'm sure it's similar for the others. If for whatever reason HN changes, where will you be flocking to next for the goods that only...

Same here, maybe it's cause it's in beta right now but even that logic doesn't make much sense
