From the article:
> CityAirbus has an 80km range and can fly at 120kmh
That's a 40 minute flight compared to roughly a 1 hour drive and vastly more expensive. Is this really useful?
When we first started using Kotlin, it was like you said. The devs were eager to try all the new possibilites and apply them wherever possible. Resulting in sometimes needlessly complicated solutions. After the initial excitement faded, everyone is now much more conservative.
Kotlin is still very much appreciated by pretty much everyone. But now sometimes I even have to remind a coworker when there's a language feature or a built-in collection function that might help them.
"The guitars are all defects. They're manufacturing defects. You know, we want to blow up guitars but we don't actually want to keep musical instruments out of the world."

The tax revenue from commerical sales was one of the big pro arguments before they had to cancel/deley those plans due to EU/international laws.
That's a DRM restriction.
Mi does some (not so) secret (anymore) authentication trying to force users into buying their genuine replacement filters cartridges.
Recently there was an article on HN on how someone got around this. [1]

Can confirm for Germany. We complain about too much complaining as well.
Yes, probably. I didn't feel comfortable with a higher dose without doctor supervision.
> If you have brown/black skin it can be even more
My skin happens to be very light so sunburn is more of a concern. The evening hours are pretty safe though.
For me sunlight and some light exercise everyday were a game changer. I had tried Vitamin D supplements (1000 IU daily) before but there was barely any noticable effect.
Thanks, I already have the ZSN pro and they're very impressive. I'll keep the DQ6 in mind in case someone asks for a recommendation.
Wired in-ear headphones are difficult to get with detachable cables. The only ones I know about are meant as in-ear monitors for musicians performing live.
Side effects are common but not severe. Fatigue, headache, chills, muscle pain. Basically a cold for a day as far as I understand.
In my last C++ project (it's been a while) we ended up including many of our dependencies in source as we required different versions, different build options or small modifications compared to the packaged version.
Most of the time we would create a minimal CMake file to build the library to our specs or adapt the existing CMake file.
There's a tiny grocery store just a five minute walk away from my apartment. I treat it like an extended fridge. Whenever I need something it's just a short trip away. So there's no need to overstock food at home for me.
But I get that not everybody has that opportunity.
The reminds me of the "bottomless bowls" experiment [0]. I know it from a TV show where it was recreated a few years ago but it was actually a real study.
> Using self-refilling soup bowls, this study examined whether visual cues related to portion size can influence intake volume without altering either estimated intake or satiation.
> Participants who were unknowingly eating from self-refilling bowls ate more soup than those eating from normal soup bowls. However, despite consuming 73% more, they did not believe they had consumed more, nor did they perceive themselves as more sated than those eating from normal bowls. This was unaffected by BMI.

I recently came across replacement electron tubes for guitar amplifiers that were "Made in Russia" by a company of the name Sovtek.
Seems like Sovtek is part of a US cooperation (New Sensor) these days. The tubes are still "Made in Russia", though.
In my experience some Germans are quite skeptical about technology when it comes to money. Cash is so simple, nothing can go wrong. Cash just works - always. Privacy is more of a bonus point. It's used as an argument a lot but I think Germans are so used to carry cash, it's just not perceived as a major annoyance.
