I'd be curious what the energy savings are like at smaller scales -- 80x at data center scales, but how about for a smaller machine, like a PC with phase cooling?
There's a couple source separation algorithms that do a pretty good job splitting the audio into single instrument tracks (I tried open_unmix) -- I'm struggling to transform the single instrument audio into frequencies or notes from that one instrument track.

Ask HN: What's a good way to estimate notes from music files

I'm trying to estimate what note is being played in an instrumental track. I'd tried to approach this problem with by splitting the track into its different instruments with open_unmix [0], and then using librosa pitch tracking [1], and then cleaned the results, but unfortunately, the midi came out totally unrecognizable. I thought about approaching this problem again when I saw the recent...

Does any one know something similar as a primer on Markov Chains? I get the idea of simulating the pattern of behaviors or states with the Markov chain, and how the Monte Carlo is useful for that, but how to actually make a Markov chain and then test it mathematically with the Monte Carlo is something that I don't know how to do.

The massive belief in the curative power of science for all ills is what I find so alluring in the early 20th century posters. They're engaging to me because there's an inherent optimism in many of them!
