I recently lost my mother to cancer. For some reason, this idea is stuck in my head that if I hear her heartbeat it will make me feel a lot better. Is it possible to generate the heartbeat sound using an ECG image using computer vision and ML?

Ask HN: What are some of the best online resources to jump into practical machine learning
+1 this is what I am considering to do as well.
What made you shift to hugo?
What framework did you use to build it?
why not create your own CDN if you have some hosting space or create one on AWS?

I am living in a country where open data is a very alien concept for the public and government. Except for a handful of civic hackers who find it very difficult to create apps or services due to lack of open APIs or datasets. Data is available on government websites but its not technically open (as in a RESTful API). I am thinking about writing a library that can crawl all over a page and...
I sent you an email a few days ago for the same position. Have not heard back since.
Tested on Chrome, Firefox, Safari. I will test on Opera and IE tomorrow and update the README.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Actually I wrote this as more of a learning exercise for me. Definitely vanilla js is the fastest way and libraries like Sprint are the source of inspiration. I wrote kinwin to sort of like create my own utility belt. I will try to improve it over the course of time. Thanks for the feedback.

When I was in your position I took a leap of faith and went for Backbone.JS, I am not sorry for that decision as it has worked wonders for me. However I would like you think the following before choosing your arsenal(MV* framework):
1. It should be easy to understand.
2. It should have good community support(because you will run into errors and problems).
A lot of these frameworks have become very mature with the time and community effort so you will never be alone and stuck at a place with no clue. Start with a framework whose workflow is easy for you to understand, remember the goal here is to organize your javascript code into manageable bits. Pick one from http://yeoman.io/community-generators.html it will help you quickly get started.
This further proves the lack of decent apps in the educational market. I am glad this worked out well for your PierreA, congratulations.
I don't think this will ever be able to replace bicycles or cars. This thing cannot be safe. Let's say Mr.A is riding one of tbethese on a busy road and has to make a quick brake on high speed. The board will come to a stop but the momentum his body has gained will make him fall seriously injuring or killing him. So its a toy, not a serious transportation device IMO.
