Bricklink.com is a lot like that. They have a large catalogue of set inventories and a database of sellers' stocks of bricks.

Here's a how-to video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IGytOTiZJg

The paper is here http://rmi.nus.edu.sg/events/pku2017/Program%20Agenda/3.%20M...

I don't think it's suggesting that quantum effects play a major role in the movement of the stock market, just that quantum models can be applied to finance with different parameters That said, I can't find a clear rationale for choosing this particular model.

Thanks for posting that. Where would a PHP programmer go to get a foothold in Scala web development?
This article in Popular Mechanics explains it a bit better http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/energy/a25922/apollo...

Have you looked at Hack? It has all those features.

This seems to be the way that commercial Wordpress themes are sold. 100% GPL licensed, but sold in the normal way. eg http://crowdfavorite.com/carrington-build/docs/faq/#license. It seems to be working.

And the wheel, that was revolutionary.
Re:Java Developers on Tuesday July 22, 2014 @08:35AM (#8068572)
That's a really useful insight. What particular problems did you run across in Python that Java/C++ handled better?

Tim "4 hour workweek" Ferris actually did something similar using virtual assistants. http://blog.timferriss.com/1/post/2009/07/how-to-tim-ferriss...
Re:Why You Shouldn't Interrupt a Programmer on Monday October 28, 2013 @06:28AM (#6626155)
I find it really helpful to write little notes and diagrams to help visualise the problem and as a basic mnemonic technique. There's not much space in your short term memory so it's better to offload some of the work if you can. I've started reading Your Brain at Work. It explains how your brain operates in laymans terms and offers some workarounds for common problems.

Help! My digital self has been enslaved by corporate missionaries and forced to drink coke. Can we calm down on the emotive metaphors a little so I can see the actual point?

Re:Introducing "Functional JavaScript" on Wednesday March 20, 2013 @11:40AM (#5407901)
You can use a trampoline like the one the author has written in this library https://github.com/fogus/lemonad/blob/master/lib/lemonad.js#...

Basically you rewrite your recursive functions so that instead of calling another function they return a parameterless closure. Then you can iteratively call your first function, and the function it returns, and the function it returns etc until the return value is not a function.

Re:Three Months to Scale NewsBlur on Monday March 18, 2013 @07:53AM (#5393576)
I was attracted by the basic looking design, but I can't work out how to do anything. Why am I subscribed to a huge number of random feeds? How do I get rid of them? How do I view the content of the feed instead of opening a new window on the original site?
Re:Google is about to learn a tough lesson on Saturday March 16, 2013 @07:43AM (#5385142)
It's very easy to make up a story like the one about MS Word after the event. Not so easy to predict in advance who these influencers are, who they influence, and if they exist in the first place. Duncan Watts has researched this and there's an interview here. http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/scientist-in...

" They throw parties or they give away free samples or they advertise in particular publications that brand themselves as reaching an influential audience and run some campaign in their normal manner. And if it works, they say, "We reached the influencers." And if it doesn't work, they say "We didn't reach the influencers" or "We weren't able to make them help us." In that sense, it's just a rhetorical device to help you explain the randomness that you actually experience in the world. "

Re:Censorship Lift for “V for Vendetta” Shocks China on Wednesday December 19, 2012 @06:44AM (#4942159)
Not about V for Vendetta, but my when my wife saw Animal Farm for the first time a couple of weeks ago she thought it was pretty accurate.

V can be interpreted any way you want depending on who you think the bad guys are. The Chinese government was established by revolutionaries after all.
