very cool! one feedback - when i selected all skills the game started with all the options of "fix a typo" first - i would like a version where all the challenges are jumbled up.

also there is an opportunity to turn this into something like vim.golf but in the browser

Google can't release a model - go announce this to your Fairwind companies.

Like why does Google keep announcing models that are not publicly available

this is llm slop. and please don't flag me. this is useful information. i know hn has a policy of not commenting on asides like website css etc - but i believe ai written posts should be called out.

Anyone here subscribed to Mubi? Would you recommend it? How different are the films compared to mainstream cinema?
Re:The Millennium Problems for Biology on Sunday September 20, 2026 @09:58AM (#49775946)
So anyone can create a list of problems and slap the name Millennium Problems on them?
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @01:24AM (#49708073)
Congrats - but isn't this the same as sending a message in a group chat that you're going somewhere?
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Monday September 14, 2026 @02:42AM (#49692819)
Love the design and the name! Just signed up - good luck with the launch!

This looks cool - however, I had a hard time understanding what I can use xbin for. I feel like it would be better if the landing page, or the GitHub README talked about what xbin enables me to do first, and then talk about the technical bits.

Re:Transcribe.cpp on Sunday July 19, 2026 @12:51PM (#48969699)
Congrats! I just tried Handy again which now uses transcribe.cpp and it works brilliantly. Love the streaming output from Parakeet Unified EN 0.6B. I remember using Handy about a year ago and it's amazing to see the improvements!
Did solutions to problems just pop into your head when you were programming before LLMs? Did you not pause and think about the code you were writing before?
Re:How to Read More Books on Monday July 13, 2026 @06:59AM (#48890802)
> I always have a book with me when I go out with my partner, even if I don’t usually end up reading it. If she has to run an errand and I have to wait, I don’t waste my free time with nothing to read. I have become good at walking my dog while reading — I even got complimented for that by a stranger — and I make sure I never go to the bathroom without a book.”

This does not sound an improvement over using a phone. We don't have to occupy ourselves every waking moment. It's okay to not do something for a minute.

Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (March 2026) on Monday March 09, 2026 @07:31AM (#47307671)
Hi Bruno - this looks great! I remember collaborating with you a couple times on Kagi's browser extensions. Was there a specific moment that made you want to work on Uruky, or was it because of the overall direction Kagi is heading in?
Re:Ask HN: Please restrict new accounts from posting on Sunday March 08, 2026 @04:01PM (#47300786)
100%. Not sure what the solution is but I have lost interest in Show HNs these days. Part of it is because when someone posted before, it usually meant they spent a fair amount of time thinking, and found it worthwhile to spend energy on the project. This was a nice first filter for bad ideas and now no longer exists.

Even for posts that are interesting to me, I get the feeling that it's not worth looking at because it was probably made using LLMs. Nothing against them, but I personally thought of Show HNs as doing something for the love of it, the end result being a bonus.

I built something very similar recently but eventually lost interest because I couldn't find customers. It's main focus was sending email reminders to users to contact their friends.

Re:Lenovo's New ThinkPads Score 10/10 for Repairability on Tuesday March 03, 2026 @07:08PM (#47241067)
Nice very cool. Unfortunately, the blog post looks like it's been generated by an LLM.

> Going from a high score to the highest score isn’t usually about making minor tweaks. It requires fighting for every small, boring, consequential decision—the ones that determine whether a repair isn’t merely possible or practical, but within easy reach.

BOOM! Let's go

Re:Leaving Google has actively improved my life on Friday February 27, 2026 @04:38PM (#47185992)
I can highly recommend Brave Search to anyone who is looking for an alternative. I found it to be much better than DuckDuckGo. Feels like Kagi almost, but free.
How do you block users on HN? Are you using a different client?
Re:Pi – a minimal terminal coding harness on Wednesday February 25, 2026 @07:08AM (#47150469)
I am also going to now implement an existing project and invent a different name for it. Look out for Waterfox, a minimal web consumer.
Re:Ladybird Browser adopts Rust on Monday February 23, 2026 @10:38AM (#47123718)
From their post on Twitter in 2024 when they adopted Swift, with a comment on Rust.

My general thoughts on Rust:

- Excellent for short-lived programs that transform input A to output B

- Clunky for long-lived programs that maintain large complex object graphs

- Really impressive ecosystem

- Toxic community

Re:Hacker News.love – 22 projects Hacker News didn't love on Monday February 23, 2026 @10:22AM (#47123464)
Looks like they changed it:

> Warp raised a $50M Series B led by Sequoia Capital and grew to over 500,000 engineers on the platform.
