Games used to render entire map in map in memory. Later they figured only the surroundings can we rendered. We can hopefully get same in AI

Ask HN: I see AI valuation coming down as soon as next year. What do you think?

AI companies started with very cheap subscriptions and it's been hardly 1 year and costs has increased 10-50x in a lot of cases. A lot of companies are still using Coding agents as they don't want to miss out on AI.I see AI companies valuation from trillion dollars to low hundred billion maybe by next year. Reason I think is, corporates are spending upto $500 per month per employee and local AI...

Tried Antigravity Gemini 3.5 Flash(High) model and can confirm it is super fast and decent good for non complex tasks.

Most AI IDEs are VSCode fork. Everyone is just pushing their own subscription service. Antigravity is made by Windsurf team and pushes Gemini models
Re:Googlebook on Tuesday May 12, 2026 @11:57PM (#48117626)
Is this the Android desktop based which was leaked quite a few times? I feel the discussion here is overly negative. Android finally having an official desktop mode is good for competition. Windows is dropping the ball with each release, Macs need some good competition.

Re:Cloudflare acquires Astro on Friday January 16, 2026 @10:59AM (#46647853)
I hope CLoudflare or another tech company buy deno. Deno is great, its lacking a big brand sponsorship.
Honda and few other have launched swapable battery vehicles in India too
Re:AI Code assistants has made completing side projects so easy on Saturday December 20, 2025 @08:44PM (#46341489)
I am using Antigravity with claude sonnet/opus 4.5. I still try to write front end components to give it some personality, AI is using same design/animations for everyone

AI Code assistants has made completing side projects so easy

I am a full stack developer with a full time job. I try to work on side projects like a lot of other developers. In last ~10 years I have started 20+ projects and for each project spent anywhere between 2 weeks to 6 months. I have completed just 2 projects which were fairly short(~4 week). So recently when started some big side project, There was almost no chance of me completing it. I was just...

Re:The next chapter of the Microsoft–OpenAI partnership on Tuesday October 28, 2025 @09:27AM (#45732625)
The money needed to run AI company is huge. If they don't do financial trickery, there is huge risk of going out of business.

AI is not making enough money to cover the cost and it will take a decade or so to cover the same.

Re:Next.js 16 on Wednesday October 22, 2025 @03:43AM (#45665968)
Everyone like to shit on node/nextjs ecosystem. Developers are putting real effort to improve though. JS tooling is moving to rust, node is adding high level APIs so we should need lesser third part libraries.
Re:Cloudflare Data Platform on Friday September 26, 2025 @06:55AM (#45385042)
I personally did not see too many posts about cloudflare. Even if there were those did not get upvoted. Not sure what the issue is
Re:Lit: a library for building fast, lightweight web components on Wednesday September 03, 2025 @04:18AM (#45113424)
Curious which web platform features are missing that are preventing Web components to complete with React(for application development not widgets)?
Re:Blender is Native on Windows 11 on Arm on Wednesday August 13, 2025 @10:53AM (#44889247)
Apple went all in one ARM, they made it very clear all Macs are going to be ARM soon. On the other side windows ARM are kind of a failure even after snapdragon elite.

Re:macOS Icon History on Sunday July 06, 2025 @09:28AM (#44480637)
Mac seem to have maintained consistency with most of icons. Windows icons on the other side are all over the place. https://www.howtogeek.com/733912/a-visual-history-of-windows...
Re:Dart added support for cross-compilation on Monday May 12, 2025 @06:43AM (#43961567)
Go is doing exceptionally well while being a Google project. I don't think its a Google problem.

IMO Dart has become a niche Flutter language instead of a general-purpose language. Dart decided to focus on being a client-side language and it is very difficult to win over JS/TS.

Re:A 10x Faster TypeScript on Tuesday March 11, 2025 @11:00AM (#43333140)
TypeScript compiler is more of a transpiler, not a typical compiler that creates a binary. I don't think it was weird choice.

Re:You don't need Next.js – Why we migrated from Next to React on Wednesday January 01, 2025 @11:30AM (#42567030)
Nextjs had become the de facto standard for writing React apps. However, things seem to have gone sideways after RSC. Not just Next, with time, React has become very confusing.

Hopefully, turbopack and RSC fixes some of these issues in future.
