Re:IMU: Understanding Accelerometers, Gyroscopes, and Sensor Fusion
on Friday May 02, 2025 @08:10AM (#43868687)
One of the things that I considered easy was working with IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), but I have found a few challenges. IMU normally refers to an electronic device which has an accelerometer and gyroscope that measure the body-specific force, angular rate, and orientation. They are everywhere: from your watch, earplugs, mobile phone, or lawnmower.
These devices are great, but tons of different variables may affect their performance. I’ll break down the difference between accelerometers and gyroscopes, how they work, and how to get the best out of their measurements.

Yes. With a banned ingredients list we have a good & quick first impression. I have plans for it that can improve the accuracy a lot but it will also require much more work and I want to validate it first.
Thanks for the interest!

I made a small Telegram bot with it. Basically it's a cron(ed) lambda that get GBP to EUR exchange rate and sends it to me via telegram every day.
The process was seamless and the money that I pay for having this running in my AWS is close to 0 :D
