This is fine. Not only are we happy with growth now, but we want growth of growth?

Well, I guess it is like OpenClaw which is always on and doing tasks based on timers, your prompts, hooks or its own decisions
> AI has destroyed a major source of "life's meaning" for many people who pursued mathematics.
That captures how I feel, and I just don't know what do with that emotion. Mathematics is now like chess, gardening, crochetting, dancing, etc
Will this kick off a wave off bankruptcy of companies with morally bankrupt ideas?
Well, someone with experience might be more expensive to hire.
I am as upset as the slew of math slop from OpenAI as the next guy, but I do not understand this article. Are they saying that this was not a true improvement because the algorithm is _galactic_? Human algorithm researchers have been publishing those sorts of results for decades now

I use the VPS mainly to route traffic from my in-house server.
I am sure there is a way to avoid tailscale, but I like putting it on everything I can. It is pretty easy to use.
I use such a computer to expose services from my home server. You can do this using tailscale or even rathole. (Sadly, I don't have access to the router to port forward packets to my home server directly.)
Things I like to host: Jellyfin, Audiobookshelf, Karakeep, Deluge, Tailscale (for exit nodes, among other things)
Other stuff I want to host but not yet: Immich, Vaultwarden, Hister, Archibebox, CopyParty
Very well written summary of the current situation
Imagine being someone who is working on one of these problems. You have no good guarantee that the problem was solved, but you will have the horrible homework of reading the AI slop. Also, if you do have something interesting to say about the problem, people will have less enthusiasm about it now
Granted this is an interesting curiosity, but Cleo hardly qualifies as a mathematician.
Also, didn't Cleo post the problems themselves?
The readme has no figures :( describing the packing?
I am reading "The Last Contract of Isako" by Fonda Lee. Finished reading her Green Bone Saga earlier. She does phenomenal world building.
Also, "Slow Down: The Degrowth Manifesto"
I like these design ideas. However, the shortcomings that the author is pointing out are not contingencies of incompetence, they are part of the marketting as well as the ideology of the AI shops.
> which means it is a dark pattern which subtly encourages the “author” to offload this work to their code reviewer without ever looking.
> Most chatbots prefer to give an answer, rather than a citation.
These dark patterns are part of what the AI shops are selling.
I think this is a misdiagnosis of the problem. The AI posters are just fine, perhaps even pretty good.
The problem is that using AI to create the posters show a lack of willingness to put in effort, and it makes you question whether the producer cares about the product and whether they care about the large scale societal problems related to the usage of post-2022 transformer based neural networks.
TLDR: Like an LLM, the input is a string, but the output is not a completion. The output is a ranking of elements from a certain enum (e.g, [Yes/No], [A/B/C/D]). They use a technique called Reinforcement Learning for Calibrated Decisions (RLCD) instead of RLHF. Also, inference is a lot faster.
https://docs.typesafe.ai/primitives has a much better explanation
Great! Can't wait until a few billion dollars are wasted on a new Meta product which becomes a nothingburger even before it starts
> I didn't realize that open math problems were a finite resource.
That is exactly what Tao is explaining in that tweet.
TLDR: Open Problems are infinite, but those which are at the boundary of easy and hard problems and are interesting are far more scarce
I read the first sentence and thought: what is the government of Albania doing in Australia?

Is it related to reticulum?
So only PR applications are affected?
Are H1Bs still being processed? They are dual intent visas as far as I know
"to power the next wave of GDP growth" is a wonderfully shallow but impressive clause.
