Re:Ask HN: Should we still learn coding? on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @12:36PM (#49804022)
Def, i think this is the most important time to learn coding because now we interact with computers more than ever. And a good programmer who is able to think in code, write good programs rather than just instructions will do much better.

I also wrote about my journey with (re)learning coding - https://aishwaryagoel.com/thinking-in-code/

Most whimsical application of local ai so far
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Sunday September 13, 2026 @10:42PM (#49691281)
Bunch of things: 1. Building a local ai news feed to learn what's going on latest in terms of technical discussion, research papers, projects - https://local-ai-signal.vercel.app/ 2. Build a second brain by injecting years of my notes using hermes, luna model and obisidian

Re:Desert Ant Labs: local, fast models that run on device on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @12:31PM (#49629172)
Honestly this is a really cool idea and i am glad that there are companies being built in this space. This is closest to the vision of what i want to do next.

Great responses in this thread
Re:Thinking in Code on Monday September 07, 2026 @01:02PM (#49600475)
I agree, i have seen a decent change in the outputs when i remember and operate it as a program instead of just random set of instructions

some of the learnings are not applicable anymore, but i benefited a lot from the framework we created

This looks great. going to try it
Short answer - stress word started feeling like a joke

Ask HN: What are you running locally on your machine with LLMs?

There is a lot of buzz around this topic but i am really curious about what's actually useful day to day when running AI/LLMs locally on your PC. A few things I'm trying to understand:Which models are you running locally and on what hardware? What use cases have actually worked out considering the speed and memory limitation? At what point did local start making more sense than just hitting an...

which hardware?
That's amazing.

Are you also building workflows, products that could be useful at your work?

Re:Ask HN: The new wave of AI agent sandboxes? on Thursday March 19, 2026 @06:40PM (#47447412)
I know there are too many of them, found this benchmarks that my partner did - https://github.com/nickaggarwal/sandbox-test/blob/main/FULL_.... He is planning to add a few more of them.
I have been at this stage and failed at it. So i can tell you things not to do:

- It also matters at what PMF quality stage you are, like we were at a weak PMF when we started scaling from roughly 12 to 25.. and i hired leaders who used to report to me. So i lost touch with people on field. ( I should have kept things flat)

- Hired too many managers instead of IC.

- Focussed more on growth v/s retention
