I’m remortgaging next year and with interest rates as they are and what they’re predicted to be, I’ll be paying off only interest. I’ll be back to paying rent essentially. It’s a scary thought.
I don’t know how people (not 4%) are surviving.
How would the housing market bubble bursting affect people in this same situation?
CSS is a big part of the web and lots of people use it every day. I find this post interesting because it inspects a world-class app used by millions of people, and it showcases some of CSS’s latest capabilities, plus it has nice graphics illustrating the findings!
No one is expecting you to learn the new framework. Interest is the main driver for learning anything new, just like anyone.
Most front end devs, in my experience, want to optimize the developer experience, increase performance, and or reduce boilerplate, so the new fancy framework might show promise in doing said things, and that’s what makes you want that framework to do well.
If a job requires a new framework, it’s likely that the CTO or senior devs of that company believe the above.
Is there a repo I can contribute to? I would like to add Figma to that list.
Adobe suite. After effects, illustrator, inDesign etc
Adobe in the above fields of design are industry leaders, and have the features & functions we’ve come to rely on.
Adobe’s pricing model has become very aggressive, and quite unaffordable for lots.
I’d suggest telling her as you explained it here, hell, show her this post.
Side note: linear’s website especially the home page, makes my iPhone 11 crash when zooming in and out. Firefox Daylight 39.0 (6519)
Crazy.
As someone who’s used both extensively:
Svelte is just perfect for small to medium projects. I’ve never used Svelte in a professional team environment though. And that’s where React is best- enterprise environment with a team.
For hobby; svelte 100%
Less boilerplate, super easy set up and you write less code in general.
I think this is one of the final pieces of what’s missing in CSS. I’d mainly use these properties for typography (similar to jQuery FitText)
I’m one of these people. I use my brothers account (in Canada) and I’m in the UK. Got the pop up on my smart TV just 2 days ago.
Netflix really doesn’t have much for me anymore... not really sure I’m going to use their service.
Looks cool. What's the use-case for this?
I've worked in advertising and ad-click networks for over 9 years, and it's funny to read "Banned by Google"... Google supported the most scummiest of advertising/ tracking tactics themselves, that is until someone else started doing it.
treenee.com is coming back with NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID
I like it lot! A note on comparing what's tweeted, vs what this app shows; Loss of formatting of the tweets- line-breaks etc.
The keynote a few days ago failed to mention FaceID used to opening your mac... and this video shows/mentions FaceID on a macOS11 website?
Seems they missed a step here with rolling it out, or are withholding the obvious. I'm assuming the latter.
Awesome! Glad someone can find it useful :)

It would be hilarious and ever maddening if the user agent came back as "Puppeteer" and IP came back ::0
Can't wait to see it.

I know Angular has it's place in this world, but I just don't like it, and will never like it. React, Vue, or Svelte for me (Coming from a front end to full stack)
Only thing notable here is the date-picker redesign... Nice.
I'm still waiting on a combined date + time picker.. Individually using both to accomplish one thing is such pain to use.
In a world full of confusion and cynicism, I'm not surprised. This will only continue unfortunately.

I literally build the same thing here in the UK. I knew I couldn't have been the only one lol.
Good job.
Scrubbing timelines... sounds helpful for heavy animation project like Html5/flash
That’s fun and I like it!
Since this is the internet, I’ll share my opinion; that’s way too boilerplate to learn. I’ll spend more time traversing folders then writing code. Cheers!
This is really really interesting. I love the idea.. but
#syntaxfatigue
simple and elegant! handles state simply, handles JSX and seems quite vanilla. What’s more to want?
Welcome! Don't be down about the bad interview.
Master HTML through and through. Know it so much you hate it again lol.
Master CSS... or don't. CSS is something that you don't want to be scared of. Luckily for you, we're now in a post-IE7 world, so it can be quite easy now.
Master JavaScript: seriously, this is what will get you a job. Don't touch React/Angular/Ember until you know exactly what vanilla JS can do. You can learn frameworks first, but you'all be outed in an interview with someone who knows your type.
Good luck!
