Looks great. Interested in following this and wondering when you folks plan to move out of Beta to GA

How do you folks monitor external dependencies at scale

Most software companies would have external dependencies like cloud platforms, APMs , Functional/Business integrations. How do you folks monitor these external dependencies errors , latency etc ? RSS feeds etc are there but there are days were AWS is slow to update status page, latency in CDN are not that obvious in the middle of night when you get paged. Makes me wonder what other folks are...

AWS API Gateway : expensive NGINX plus : expensive Kong : Community is free but needs a small team owning it , if there is a DB KrakenD: relatively new but promising to me. ...

Ask HN: What API Gateways do you use?

We have been doing a study on find the most appropriate API gateway. Our traffic is roughly 2B requests a day. Curious to know what you folks use and how much costs in terms of license or team maintaining it?

Agreed. I wonder why none of other competitors do that, especially in current context. There is Amazon fresh and Bringmeister but they arent as good.
All private banks up there? How has been your experience with public sector banks so far ?
My two cents, Using OpenAPI enables in going API first. The stakeholders agreeing on an API is perhaps one of the most important things in lifecycle of the product and rest of the things really just snowballs from there. Also, an API that changes frequently is perhaps not a good sign, it will hurt the clients, new version of the API is different thing though.

My personal take is that for Jio the cellphone network is an opening to providing services that can be monetised in long run. Same strategy thats being followed by biggest tech companies across the world.
There is an unparalleled desire of humans to feel superior and thus it does not matter we are in which country or company. It comes out of us and intelligence has nothing to do with that.
Re:Ask HN: Is Georgia Tech's Online Master in CS Worth It? on Tuesday August 15, 2017 @10:10PM (#15024443)
So as a rough estimate if there would be 4 semesters , I would be spending roghly 1750 USD per semester . I know there would be some deviation. But is that a fair guess and financial planning ?

I am also interested to course but 7k USD is still high to be paid as lumpsum upfront. Is someone aware if that would be a staggered payment schedule so that I can pay from my savings as I accrue them.

Thanks

Re:Does OO really match the way we think (1997) [pdf] on Saturday August 12, 2017 @04:03AM (#14996948)
But then if OO is a dud then why do we have some of its implementations C#, C++ and Java drive most of the enterprise. If they would not have existed would we have same amount to faith of enterprises to move to adopt software applications to run daily business.
At just 29 with such entrepreneurial experience is an awesome feat plus money in the bank for an year is a blessing from my point of view.

What you really need is just plain vanilla positive intent and outlook and you would sail past this crossroad.

What i would do is : Go for a road trip or travel somewhere may be Nepal for a fortnight. Get energized and come back with lots of positive energy. Skill wise don't bother much. All great entrepreneurs have felt this way at some point in their life but now are multi-billionaire because of their tenacity

Despite the route being longer, the flight took almost two hours less thanks to tailwinds — winds that blow in the same direction as an aircraft and thus make it go faster.

Flights across the world are doing this but what is fascinating is that how much important is the collaboration of science and engineering.

Re:Think before you Mongo on Tuesday August 16, 2016 @11:08AM (#12297943)
If we treat schemaless is to Mongo then we are sure to abuse it after sometime. There are several other factors to consider. Mongo is NoSQL db and not a greek god of data storage. So, do not curse it for your sins.
As per point 6 and 7 on http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/india-all-set-to-launch-its-o... , it seems that India does not intend to dump unwanted stuff in the sea

1) Security company. good salary and facilities like transport facility.Offering stocks. But, the company is splitting into two ( u can surely guess the name). Big brand.

2) Talent management company offering solutions as SAAS. Nice exposure to multi-tenant cloud infra. Higher fixed pay. Cooler work culture. Became private from public (yes the other way round)
