Really? I'm pretty sure I searched through and saw some dating back to at least October 15th, and others I kept scrolling back and couldn't even find them via a CTRL-F search. I'm not super versed in Twitter though so maybe I made a mistake, I'll have to double-check.

EDIT: Ok yeah, I definitely made a mistake about those dates. I can't find the tweet containing "recipie" at all, was it deleted? Sorry, I had no intention to mislead anyone.

No way, that's absurd (the "help him" message, not that Assange might be in danger). First, those tweets were not posted one after another, or even in chronological order. Second, it's a mixture of missing letters and extra letters, and for example in "recipie" they select "e", when it's obviously "i" that is the extra letter. And then why take three letters from "algorithim"? And most importantly, many of these tweets were posted before Assange even lost his internet connection.

I will say that I am totally dismayed by the general response toward Wikileaks on HN. I wish Assange the best, and hope Wikileaks continues with its work in the American political sphere for a long time. I don't know so much about Wikileaks' activity relating to Turkey, for instance, and if that was handled improperly, but the Podesta and DNC leaks are proving extremely valuable to American democracy.

Re:Why American Elections are Flawed, and How to Fix Them on Wednesday October 19, 2016 @09:32AM (#12743583)
I thought that about part I, that maybe some of the really terrible lines ("I've payed mentally ill homeless people to do some crazy shit!" or whatever) could be jokes taken out of context, but part II released today is less cobbled together. I don't see how there can be any doubt about the criminal intentions that Scott Foval and Bob Creamer had, and their respective firing and resignation are further evidence of that.

The feasibility of voter fraud is not a potential flaw in an election?

I read that Snopes article this morning, and the thing is, those criticisms don't apply to this new PVA video. Especially so in the second part that was released today, the clips are not at all edited together or taken out of context. Scott Foval essentially has an extended conversation with the undercover reporter in which he lays bare the criminal conspiracy that his organization is attempting to concoct.
They distribute an encrypted torrent of all their files. The decryption key is supposed to be released via a dead man's switch, according to Assange.

I didn't expect it either. First I got a couple upvotes, then downvoted heavily, and now back up again :)
Re:UK Government proposes porn-viewing ID on Wednesday October 19, 2016 @07:03AM (#12742711)
I started regularly viewing porn since 8 or 9 years old. To this day I'm not into "pro" porn or any other type of strange porn, just amateur couples filming themselves fucking. I watched indie European movies with my parents that had full nudity and penetration before that age even. Despite my other character flaws, I don't actually have any sexual hangups, harmful fetishes, etc.

I have literally no problem with my future child watching a video of people having sex.

I've never owned a smart phone. At the time I would've had some prepaid flip phone, and fortunately I was pretty consistent about keeping those out of the house.

> Donald-lets-silence-my-critics-Trump

As opposed to Hillary-lets-coopt-the-media-and-bribe-my-potential-critics-Clinton? I hate Donald Trump, but dismissing evidence because of the source is clearly misguided.

It's equivalent in the eyes of the families and communities in which these civilian deaths are occurring. And, I think you're naive to say that we don't target civlians. The MSF hospital strike was clearly intentional -- it may not have come as an order from the top (the strike was authorized by regional commanders), but the feeble attempt at discipline (there were no criminal charges) is essentially a go-ahead for other low level actors to engage in the same behavior.

The US government paid out a pathetic $6000 to families of the dead civilians. I'm guessing that didn't quite break the bank.

Re:The Few Things I Own on Tuesday October 18, 2016 @10:11AM (#12734457)
If he's in Thailand (which I'm assuming from him having a Thai Macbook), then it's actually much cheaper and more convenient to eat out, at least anywhere outside Bangkok. Same situation in Cambodia -- I initially attempted to cook a lot here but gave up since it's cheaper to eat the food in my alley and around the market near my apartment and it tastes better than anything I can cook.
It does happen by mistake. My apartment was raided by police and I know four others who have been raided too. In two of those cases, the people who were raided had nothing to do with any kind of illegal activity. The other three were drug related, of course.

There's an "or" in your definition, so...
