Do you have a link to that doorbell product? My house came with the same problem.

I think Google+ had already broken Google search in that several way years before Disney+ appeared.
Micro Men! Great little TV movie, and really interesting story of the rivalry between UK golden-age home computing giants Sinclair and Acorn (Acorn being the company behind the BBC micro, and also originally the "A" in "ARM").
They use a new nanocomposite material, which combines graphene oxide flakes with upconverted nanoparticles (UCNPs) to achieve an unprecedented data density.
...and so, teaching us rubes that lesson was Elon's intended 3D chess move all along?
Re:Intel outsources Core i3 to TSMC's 5nm process on Wednesday January 20, 2021 @08:30AM (#25846171)
Via HN yesterday, some good thoughts on that question: https://stratechery.com/2021/intel-problems/
Incorrect and vulnerable crypto is why people are microdosing LSD?

Re:Sundar will be the CEO of both Google and Alphabet on Tuesday December 03, 2019 @07:22PM (#21698389)
Either way, too early.
Re:Kilo LISP on Tuesday March 19, 2019 @08:09AM (#19430032)
I suspect it's called Kilo Lisp because all those sizes are in the of "kilobyte" order of magnitude, rather than "megabyte." But not because any aspect of it is exactly 1k in size.

Fun name either way.

Or how about the bash script that takes python's print out of the binary and converts it to decimal?
Re:Lyft Files for IPO on Thursday December 06, 2018 @01:03PM (#18620432)
Don't know much about the ride share industry, but am interested and curious. Which parts of this type of app do you think would be particularly difficult to scale?
Re:AmigaOS 3.1.4 on Wednesday October 10, 2018 @07:43PM (#18189920)
I would assume the best intentions for the vast majority of individuals working in the health system. But the economy of that system is one that favors treatment over cure/prevention. I'd like to believe that is a mistake of circumstance and not a design of human greed.
I'd argue benevolent belongs in quotes. Not to question the very clear upside to the game development community. But rather to acknowledge that Epic is likely anticipating the benefits to itself as a company will be higher than the costs.
Re:How Firefox Got Fast Again on Monday November 13, 2017 @10:50AM (#15687285)
I find the absence of Smart Zoom on Mac Firefox to be very painful indeed. The "double right tap" gesture works in both Safari and Chrome, and zooms in exactly on the div/image you're interested in. I've searched for alternatives in FF, but even the half-working ones I found don't work in Quantum. Sad because I'm rooting for Mozilla, but just can't function in their browser without Smart Zoom.
Re:Another Ransomware Outbreak Is Going Global on Tuesday June 27, 2017 @01:24PM (#14647323)
Everyone would notice a nuclear attack. NSA exploiting vulnerabilities to their own ends, not so much.
Re:A proposal to move Gnome to GitLab on Tuesday May 16, 2017 @10:29PM (#14355155)
Definitely not 10x better. But being open source and freely self-hostable give GitLab an edge over GitHub in two respects that are very important to some users.
Re:Will Mexico Get Half of Its Territory Back? on Saturday April 08, 2017 @06:42AM (#14066305)
Sorry to point this out, but Betteridge's law of headlines seems to apply very squarely in this case.
Re:Ringling Bros. circus to close after 146 years on Sunday January 15, 2017 @10:28AM (#13404395)
Which, I guess, is ample justification for humans to treat these animals cruelly? Not really following the logic of your argument here. Though I definitely agree with your point about cruelties inherent in the meat and dairy industries.
Re:LoweBot on Saturday September 03, 2016 @08:27AM (#12418935)
Why not just an app? Cheaper, and no scarcity issues: one for every customer.
Re:Patch's new owner lays off staff in 1:39 conference call on Wednesday January 29, 2014 @03:49PM (#7146758)
Honest question, why is a phone firing such an insult? I may need some sensitivity training, but putting myself in the shoes of the person being fired I think I'd probably prefer phone. Maybe someone can help me see the other point of view more clearly.
Re:Kal – a clean JavaScript alternative without callbacks on Friday August 16, 2013 @10:55PM (#6228008)
OK. Better how?
Re:Firefox OS devices officially released on Tuesday July 09, 2013 @09:48AM (#6012607)
One big difference from WebOS is that the company behind FirefoxOS will not likely abandon it within 12 months of kicking it off. 4th or 5th place in the market might represent enough scale to be considered a "success" as far as Mozilla is concerned.
Re:Asm.js: The JavaScript Compile Target on Wednesday April 03, 2013 @01:20PM (#5487443)
...not yet, anyway.
Re:How I ended up with Mac on Tuesday March 05, 2013 @05:13PM (#5327755)
Command + Shift + G might be what you're looking for, as a kind of replacement for address bar.
