I actually switched to dvorak for a while and got fast with it then swapped back due to qwerty, lol.

It felt really nice to type on but my issues were adjacent to the that

Do you take magnesium specifically at night, or does it not matter when you take it? I'm not sure if it's something your body stores for use when it needs it or if it just throws away what it doesn't need or use.

Having not read the article yet, this is an assumption. He could himself enjoy the kick/boom of a subwoofer (I know I do, it makes music so much better) or the sound of his own exhaust (I never have personally cared about this)

I wasn't able to find this, is it iPhone only?
Re:Apple's weird anti-nausea dots cured my car sickness on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @02:00PM (#48559309)
My partner got some goofy glasses with liquid in them to help him use his phone in the car.

He only had to wear them for a week or two before his motion sickness from cars was completely cured. Now he can just use his phone, without the glasses, in the car whenever he wants

Flow state relies on a constant information inflow that holds your attention perfectly, often hinging on competency and challenge. You can't enter it in AI coding because you need to wait for replies. It's incompatible.

I just watch YouTube in the downtime these days, or movies that I don't care too much about

I use Dice for some venues

Re:Magnifica Humanitas (Encyclical Letter) on Tuesday May 26, 2026 @02:23PM (#48283706)
I heard that when cars were becoming popular, some scandanavian country had lots of protests about how dangerous they were and that they were successful. I don't remember the desired outcome though

The quality of hacker news commenters has been steadily declining, yet I'm still constantly surprised by just how mentally shallow and lazy some can be
Re:AI is just unauthorised plagiarism at a bigger scale on Thursday May 21, 2026 @10:39AM (#48223459)
Is it possible able to host your website in a way so that it couldn't be found via search engines (and thus wouldn't be crawlable I hope)?

I know this has repercussions on findability, but if that wasn't a concern, I'm curious how one might circumvent getting crawled.

Re:We've made the world too complicated on Sunday May 17, 2026 @05:52PM (#48173523)
If you don't mind me asking (this is unrelated to your post), but is your company hiring? My next position I'm hoping to work at an international remote company, so I'm just following up on any lead that I see, hah
Re:The US Is Winning the AI Race on Thursday May 14, 2026 @11:28AM (#48136866)
Well it could recognize that wetware is extremely energy and storage efficient in some ways.
I tried to find this after reading your comment and the amount of nonsense AI tornado videos is a lot to wade through. Wasn't able to find it.
Jobs that you want to do vs jobs that you have to do are entirely different levels of motivating and result in completely different energy levels for people.

If I have to do a job I hate for the rest of my life I would eternally be low energy. If I could do the thing I loved every day, the thing I truly wanted to do, I would get up excited every day and would have high energy throughout.

Having more free time, yes people would get bored. But the resulting things that they work on would be things that invigorate them.

I lay down and close my eyes (and sometimes nap) pretty much every day for like 20 min. When the mid afternoon slump hits, instead of trying to fight it or use caffeine I just lay down. Does wonders for my energy levels afterwards.
Re:Business Owners Are Worst Clients on Sunday May 03, 2026 @11:57AM (#47998239)
I think they get along with people but don't like being told what to do, or be told "how things are".
Won't competition likely keep prices low? At first maybe not, but sooner or later open models will catch up, then it's a completely open market for anyone to host and sell services.
Re:My Experience as a Rice Farmer on Tuesday April 07, 2026 @01:38PM (#47678742)
It truly is not a choice, as I cannot sustain my family / lifestyle with manual labor. Opting into working out for the sake of my health is not nearly the same.
Re:Ah, peptides. where to begin? on Monday April 06, 2026 @06:12PM (#47667988)
My partner's grandfather died of cancer because when he was having pains they believed their homeopathic medicine would work. When he finally when in to see a real doctor it was too late. If he had gone in earlier, he would been able to have a chance. This is not a rare occurrence for these types.
While this can be true, this absolutely is not true for the majority of paycheck-to-paycheck people. You truly need to get your head out of your ass if you honestly believe this is what is causing people to be poor.

The angle / position your wrist is when your fingers need to do these lateral movements could be more or less taxing depending.
I think there are actually discord client mods which let you stream in high quality anyway.
Re:Vocal Guide – belt sing without killing yourself on Saturday February 07, 2026 @09:38AM (#46924238)
Okay, what's the actual point of this website? It's just a glossary of singing terms, that if you sing at all you would know pretty much all of them. Even the "resources" section that links to youtube just links to a search on youtube of the term, not a specific video. Was this just your AI project for fun?
Re:I Now Assume That All Ads on Apple News Are Scams on Saturday February 07, 2026 @08:19AM (#46923631)
I often imagine a world where ads are illegal.
Re:Vocal Guide – belt sing without killing yourself on Saturday February 07, 2026 @08:02AM (#46923518)
I see a lot of people in here posting success stories from lessons, which is great. But I tried lessons for about 2 months and go absolutely nowhere haha. It was just repeatedly practicing some song that I wasn't super into and I never even felt like I was "singing" just talking kind of louder / longer and felt very forced and odd. Terrible experience tbh, but I do love singing and still want to some day. (I generally just sing in falsetto to songs in my car because I'm too timid to really project my actual voice)
Re:Wind Chime Length Calculator on Monday January 26, 2026 @11:02AM (#46767289)
Where did you get them if you don't mind me asking

Also do you know the material of the metals? I wonder if it'd be worth it to have them in different metals for different timbres. Like two different instruments

Honestly this issue isn't inherent to just teens. I want to do be able to do these sorts of activities as an adult even, but there's nowhere that you're allowed to just be or do anything.
Re:Americans Are the Ones Paying for Tariffs, Study Finds on Monday January 19, 2026 @09:10PM (#46687061)
It doesn't need to be tech. From the Guidelines section of HN:

On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity.

Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, or celebrities, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. Videos of pratfalls or disasters, or cute animal pictures. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic.
