I think they mean by helping 8 people double productivity they achieved at least 10x maybe 16x

I suppose you could also be 10x everyone else you work with by deliberately sabotaging the rest of your team...

Imagine ignoring the advice of experts in the field because it doesn't match your own opinion...
There's also fungi with a fuck ton of genders, excuse the pun.

It cost $11,000, lots of housed working people don't have access to that much capital.

Even if they're not 17.

Apart from the stigma it was causing Indian people it was making a lot of people think it was a problem confined to India.

?

Have you seen the time span it covers? I don't think calling it a simplification as a criticism is fair, do you want a 1:1 mapping?

Also the sprawling messiness isn't just the aesthetic, it's the thesis.

This is cool, currently using i3 but I'd love it if you could shift over half a screen like this.

Probably my favourite line on the site.

Re:Riot is now Element on Wednesday July 15, 2020 @06:08PM (#23852785)
OK serious question perhaps someone connected to matrix / element will see this.

The name change from riot coincided with the murder of George Floyd and following surge unrest under the banner of Black Lives Matter. What's the teams position this, are they trying to distance themselves from the protests, if so why? If not, why?

A bizarre and not very appealing website BUT an interesting provocation about what values we embed into technology.

Sounds like a bad case of capitalism. Doing skilled work you're proud of, with people you love and respect is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Doing it to make line go up is what prostitution is to enthusiastically consenting sex with people you love and respect.

It's not a suprise your playing a lot of sports. Depending on the sport you can momentarily tick those boxes. But your not left with anything afterwards.

Find something that needs doing in the world, find people who feel the same way. Try science fiction as a practice.

Been using kitty for a bit, I essentially wanted to be able to render emojis in nvim. I haven't really thought about it since installing which is a good sign.
Re:If the heart is a muscle, why doesn't it ever get tired? on Saturday March 21, 2020 @05:22AM (#22645453)
The heart does get tired, it can operate at very high levels but only for a short period of time.

It also has a pretty good blood supply.

What did they expect? Popular and ordinary are essentially synonyms when it comes to taste.

Also this: "As today’s young become wealthier [...]" . Where's the evidence fit this assertion?

Re:Patients who cannot eat food 'fear for lives' on Friday August 16, 2019 @06:02AM (#20713632)
Well this is terrifying.

It's like a grim metaphor for our alienation from modern food production and how we are as autonomous as newborns.

If this was a science fiction novel it would be written off as crass and clumsy.

:(

RIP Mark fisher.

It's a tragedy that self help book peddling people like Jordan Peterson pass as public intellectuals while while Mark Fishers Zeitgeist capturing work circulates between a tiny subset of lefty politicos and Avant Garde music fans.
