I think quite a few monitors that have USB-C input also have fans in them.
Curious about Netflix, does it limit the resolution because it is not an “official” app or something like this?
Also, it says you have to have system root of the tv, how does one get root access to the LG TV?

It’s been a little while since I used Steam but you used to be able to do that from their own website, I think it was store.steampowered.com (I am guessing the website from memory). My game PC wasn’t my main PC so I didn’t even had Steam on that pc and it was what I used to buy the games - don’t really remember if I wishlist too because I use bookmarks in web browsers and folders for the bookmarks.
Any note on specs? Do we still have ethernet? Which ethernet we get (is it 2.5GBps?)? How much storage? And what about RAM? I couldn’t easily grasp this information after skimming the text.
Also, any change to the output ports, or are we still restricted to one hdmi as the single output?
It’s been a little while, but I remember Mario 64 having way better camera than many games, even for a while
> How many people were on the Super Mario 64 team?
> Probably about 15 people in the end.
Whoa, a much smaller team than I imagined! It must have been fun working in this group!! The rest of the interview is also cool but was impressed with this small number!!
Hey just because you mentioned specs, we went back from the huge amount of md files to no md files at all and having the code being self documented for our AI based workflow (we have projects using AI and others with human workflow).
If necessary there is tooling to generate docs from the code itself. There is also tooling for code quality and other things. You can also use AI to help build deterministic tools for specific code quality verification you may want - all major languages have established ways to parse the code and generate easy to inspect AST and code metrics that can be used for arbitrary quality measurements.
The entire “API” (all the code objects and functions interfaces) were carefully architected so their “contracts” are well determined, with very explicitly defined types. The machine written code now can evolve it directly and it has much less impact on context, which allows using very cheap and fast models and reduce a lot of expense while producing quality and predictable code output. Just a heads up if you are still using many md files and relying too much on the big frontier models.
I watched that Ted Lasso episode too!
I think compilers can push out ifs inside for to be one if with two fors.
Apple keyboards and mouse are horrible, don’t bother with those, plenty of others exists that also have multiple cordless solutions (dongle, Bluetooth, WiFi). The only of the magic devices from apple that is worth is the touchpad, that one is really good, and yes it is usable with a mouse too, as some things are useful through gestures.
I think I remember something for this for mercurial to git migrations, I hope when its git 2 to 3 something similar is made (or it will take some time to adapt like when python did its 2 to 3 migration).
It used to be Gentoo but not sure it is related anyway nowadays
I really wanted the wiki to at minimum have directories so they would be easier to structure and allow even for major versions that are maintained in parallel.
If you have a car you are forced to because you can’t use Apple Car Play if you don’t enable Siri.
I also don’t use but I have to have it enabled to be able to use Google Maps, and Siri occasionally mistakes a conversation for being invited to listen and speak.
This boss doesn’t exist in the SNES version right? I don’t remember it.
There is a gopher version of it I think
Super cool. Anyone recommends an oscilloscope for this day and age? I loved the Tektronix ones, but haven’t touched one in 16 years. I think it would be nice to have one to look into these kinds of signals - I know they are relatively simple enough to imagine, but this looks like something cool to show to kids.
I think that dude lives in a van somewhere in UK so everything is powered through some powerbank in the van. Plus having several different hardwares that all has to occupy less space as possible.
Looks great. I remember a company sort of bought it but afaict they didn’t monetize it. I don’t remember the strategy, or why it was acquired, does anyone recall it?
I still use Sublime Text, is it going to be the new Firefox now?
I haven’t used myself but in Linux there is also zenity
https://linux.die.net/man/1/zenity
I have seen scripts that use it for a quick GUI.
I really dislike using Powershell as a shell, but it looks like on Windows specifically it also has some gui thing that is somewhat similar to a .NET like zenity.
Yes, I understand, as perhaps someone who has a museum and has to keep things working with very little resources, and I imagine there are many more reasons. Different people may have the same hobbies on the surface for different reasons and so on.
It removes the fun of figuring things out by yourself and the learning how to learn things. Also the lower complexity these systems usually have vs what we use today.
I don’t see the appeal either, but perhaps the person using takes something else from their retrocomputing use.
I like the Trofast system for making stuff for storing kids toys and organizing their rooms. Honestly there is a lot to love and customize about their offerings for kids and luckily the good stuff also gets picked up by other manufacturers/suppliers, so you get access to other things that go together - furniture too, but also stickers, and other functional decor stuff. Because kids grow up fast and you may be swapping/change their stuff more often, it’s a god send to have these to help out.
Ha interesting, any idea why the FreeBSD variant was discontinued? This was one of the projects I always associated with FreeBSD.
