Ask HN: Do you know why new high-capacity WD drives make this weird noise?
I recently bought two 8TB WD Gold drives, and they happen to be the noisiest drives I've heard in about 20 years. However the weirdest aspect of it is that they make a sound like a floppy drive regularly when not under load. There's a huge thread on the WD forum with other people experiencing this across multiple ranges and sizes:...

Kissmetrics has either sold or lost control of their domain, with no warning
Precursor: I don't like marketing. Not my choice to use Kissmetrics. So kissmetrics.com is now the SEO blog of someone called Neil Patel. I've been trying to find a relatively flexible CMS that supports localisation of everything (e.g. both in templates and in generated content), but I haven't found a huge amount of options. CraftCMS seems to be the most straightforward one I've found so far, but what other options are there? Language doesn't matter especially, but it does need to be fairly easy to customise/extend.I'm sure...

Ask HN: I'm about to launch my startup, should I charge in dollars?
I'm almost ready to properly launch my one-man startup; I'm just setting up the company at the moment (which is a new experience for me).I'm based in the UK, the site's hosted in the EU, and I have the opportunity to charge in GBP, EUR, or USD via Stripe; which should I use? Do US users hesitate when they see a price in pounds? I know a few UK startups (like Pusher) which bill in dollars but I...
