Re:The AI Bubble Monitor on Tuesday November 03, 2026 @10:53AM (#50353533)
”China’s bubble already collapsed, leading to a plunge in its AI-tech index of 40 percent” This was news to me, is there any good coverage on what happened?
It's funny to pick a birth year from our era and think of how history will represent us:

Martha was born in the countryside near Short Pump, in 1993 CE. Her village holds about 300 people. She makes her home in a timber-framed detached house. Martha has neither brothers nor sisters. She eats mostly wheat bread and maize, pork and dairy, and potatoes and garden vegetables, with apples in season, and coffee, soft drinks and snack foods too. She knows her letters. Her height is about 171 cm (5 ft 7 in).

Switzerland is ranked 67th in country population density. For reference, the United Kingdom is ranked 48th and the United States is ranked 183rd.

Yeah, seems like a standard supply level to me.

"California’s inventory has averaged just over 20 days of supply over the last five years (2019–23), compared with the U.S. average of 21.6 days."

Re:GitHub's Historic Uptime on Tuesday March 31, 2026 @03:21PM (#47592170)
Do we have metrics for the uptime of other major services? Would be interesting to see if this is just a GitHub problem or industry-wide.
Re:iPhone 17 Pro Demonstrated Running a 400B LLM on Monday March 23, 2026 @11:48AM (#47491138)
This is awesome! How far away are we from a model of this capability level running at 100 t/s? It's unclear to me if we'll see it from miniaturization first or from hardware gains
It would be nice if there were a domain specific language that could help with the internal consistency problem
Is Google losing significant web traffic to ChatGPT and others? I don't understand why else they'd test a product like this so widely.

If I zoom in closely, I think I see a yes. Seriously, some data looks great in a pie chart

Ask HN: Is cell phone radiation still a concern in 2023?

In the early days of mobile technology, there were numerous discussions and studies concerning the radiation emitted by cell phones and potential health risks, including cancer.Phones are closer to us than ever — sometimes even under our pillows while we sleep. Has technology evolved to significantly reduce these risks, or are the concerns as relevant as ever?

I think the quote reads: "Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing."
