Yes, for a lot of people in the lower income bracket it is difficult to make ends meet[0].

From my anecdotal experience in Sweden, I suspect it might have a lot to do with the lasting economic situation since Covid. People do not seem to be able to afford going out or having people over like they used to.

Prices have increased a lot, making the margins even harder to survive on for the majority.

I wish there was support for 3 monitors, and 3 computers. Otherwise this would have been an immediate buy!
If there were no previous study available, there would be no argument to enforce a policy to enable this. So I am thankful that someone made a study, now there is more ”data” to back the claim up.

To me there is a difference that lies in the words. E.g. `making` and `producing` both result in the creation of something, but `making` has a more active part while `producing` has a more supervisory part.

This became more relevant to me when I began meeting producers as a software engineer in game development.

It was never safe to begin with, that is why the security community has been screaming for resources since the 80s.

This has been my perception of the timeline as well.
This is not true, this change is a recent phenomenon, I believe it came into effect sometime around 2021-2023 (maybe earlier even). I believe it changed when OpenAI showed the value of data.

Before, there was no problem using Instagram or Twitter while not logged in. Now there is a dark pattern that forces you to create an account, or log in.

If you have multiple devices on the same LAN, all of them will use the pihole.
https://www.hygglo.se is common in Sweden.

We all helped our families and loved ones to ditch MSN for Google Talk for Skype for WhatsApp for Discord etc.

It might happen again. :)

I have been bitten more than once thinking that my initial assumption was correct, diving deeper and deeper - only to realize I had to ascend and look outside of the rabbit hole to find the actual issue.

> Assumption is the mother of all screwups.

The ticketing system was horrible, it really was not fair this year around.

I would have appreciated seeing a <2 minute recording of it (GIF, animation, video etc.) to better understand what it is.

I like the logo, though!

I think part of the solution might be acceptance, that you can accept the situation and “forgive” the offender - which will relieve yourself of your feelings towards them, allowing yourself to let go and move on.

Does that make sense?

In Sweden it’s customary to get 25-40 days of vacation per year based on seniority, public vs private employers and other benefits.

You should be able to use Avalonia UI[1] as an alternative GUI layer on Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android.

There is a beautiful Avalonia.FuncUI[2] and Avalonia.FuncUI.Elmish[3] which is an implementation of Elmish[4] (based of the Elm language[4]) for F#.

https://zolomon.com is my personal blog, though I definitely need to pick up writing again.
Flattr[0] started out with this idea and have since pivoted slightly.

I would point you to the excellent book “The Design of Everyday Things”, and “Don’t make me think”.

I read this book which helped me understand what it finally meant to think mathematically. Highly recommended, Keith is a fantastic lecturer.
From your description I think that .NET WPF[0] has the same architecture?

I guess an easy idea to escape this is that it's a cycle of events that repeat forever.

For example, imagine the sequence of events `A, B, C`. After `C`, imagine that the cycle repeats with the beginning of `A` again, ad infinitum.

Nice way to capture prompts to see what others are working on.
This is called user experience design. There is a good book called "The Design of Everyday Things"[0] where you would learn enough of the approach and fundamentals to do this yourself if you wish.
