The inability to hold down a job is a very common symptom of mental illness. In other words, it is no secret that your mental health hinges on whether or not you contribute to the economy.

It appears the new one does not so that is very good news.

I had trouble finding it on the product page, even after scrolling through all the animations.

Yes, thank you.

If there any confirmation on if this new version is compatible with no sim card? One of the things I enjoy about the pixel budget phones is that it's simless but I was thinking of switching.
Haha streaming is officially worse than cable. It was only a matter of time, really.
Re:Apple Event March 8, 2022 on Tuesday March 08, 2022 @01:40PM (#30603985)
Pixel #a series also are simless. The iPhone SE requires a sim card unfortunately.
Again a non-answer. What exact steps should be taken and by whom?
and an int overflow!
As we have already seen this pandemic, you can't always guilt or shame people into action.
So you're saying the western world needs to experience something drastic like third world poverty in order to actually change?
Re:Ask HN: What concepts have you never truly understood? on Monday March 07, 2022 @09:08PM (#30595691)
That is rather fascinating. I wonder if there is some sort of treatment or inner ear procedure you could take to ground your spatial awareness.
That is a very common screed that probably feels good but has no tangible effect.

Can you be more specific? Which lifestyles need to be reduced? What specific action are you demanding specific individuals take?

Are you able to tell right from left without thinking?
Re:Ask HN: What do Russians on HN think about this war? on Monday March 07, 2022 @11:24AM (#30589700)
Can you explain this cancellation of everything Russian? The Russian restaurant near me is being embraced by the local community. Most people here feel bad for the Ukrainian and Russian people and only have hatred for Putin. Was a throwaway necessary for this comment?

Do you play them the moment you wake up in the morning?
I remember talks during the 90s about decreasing our dependence on foreign oil. If we did not make the transition to renewables decades ago then we kind of deserve the insane prices.
Re:Russia Says It Has American Basketball Player in Custody on Saturday March 05, 2022 @12:10PM (#30569367)
That does not really answer the question. Why was she still there? Russia invaded Ukraine.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/...

"Do not travel to Russia due to the unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces in Ukraine, the potential for harassment against U.S. citizens by Russian government security officials, the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia, COVID-19 and related entry restrictions, terrorism, limited flights into and out of Russia, and the arbitrary enforcement of local law. U.S. citizens should depart Russia immediately."

Wait what was she doing in Russia in March of 2022?
For those this is true for there is another elephant in the room: Are companies that embrace remote work simply better at finding mature employees? Otherwise remote employers would clearly be getting outperformed by in-office ones if remote workers were actually less productive.
I recall hearing about the Slack channel Apple employees were using to push for long-term remote work.

I wonder if Apple will try to retain remaining employees with a cost of living wage increase.

Re:Anti-racism betrays Asian students on Thursday March 03, 2022 @04:23PM (#30547183)
Do you have a source for that? I've heard this same point made before about why Jewish people are so successful compared to other races.
Re:Asian-Americans fight back against school discrimination on Thursday March 03, 2022 @07:47AM (#30540202)
I'm not hearing any solutions.
Then the problem will solve itself won't it? The in-person companies should clearly out-compete the remote ones.
Implying companies that embrace remote work are less collaborative?
What is an RIF?
I imagine over time the permanent employees will be "managed out".

Who is saying only one thing should be done? You can see free lunch programs and free daycare but you can also see that is not a panacea by itself.
