I ended up building the prototype this morning (a bit of insomnia). Now I've got this cool little demo (fully functional) running on my iphone--- now what?

I really can't imagine facebook in 10 years. By then, there will be a whole generation that has gone from grade school through college using facebook. Part of growing up is leaving things behind and god knows that facebook desperately wants to keep you coming back day after day.

I swear that people are going to look back at Facebook and make a lot of comparisons to AOL's rise and fall.

Ask HN: How do I share an idea with a company but still receive credit?

It is a great little idea- that I would give away if it meant that it would be used. I do want to be in a position where I am able to take credit. What do I do?Should I build a prototype? And then just start knocking on doors? Cold-emailing founders? This is a complementary idea-- it would be something that companies like: SCVNGR, 4Square, Facebook and even Color.com will one day adopt to...

I imagine that it won't be an all inclusive social networking site- it will instead, be a collection of sites that focus on single features (work, education, social groups, hobbies and so on). People are going to just grow out of this everything model- especially those that have been using it since high school (even grade school). There is something to be said about staying in touch with people from your past, but realistically how much does one have in common with an acquaintance from 15 years ago? I would venture to say that even the most active facebook users reduce their usage within the first few months and this trend continues as one transitions out of being a student.
