Re:New super-enzyme eats plastic bottles six times faster on Saturday October 03, 2020 @06:59PM (#24675306)

I can think of at least 50 ways to use them that cost less than 2.8 million, one of which is art.

There’s a circadian effect to blood glucose...it’s part of how you wake up. Kind of surprised the authors of a circadian rhythm study didn’t factor this in.

The novelty is the important part IMHO
Novel behavior could increase plasticity. Whether that’s novel exercise, new dances, or brushing your teeth with the opposite hand.

Any possibility of an East Coast meetup in the near future?
So good. The Wrath of the Khans episodes are some of my favorites.
Why can’t someone rig up a DJI drone with an adhesive base, land it on the mystery drone, leave the camera engaged, and figure out where they go?

Possibly placebo, but I felt like bone broth helped during my Achilles tendon recovery.

Re:Economics Needs a Post-Crash Revolution on Sunday October 27, 2019 @06:58PM (#21373022)
I would argue the real question is sustainability. The universe is finite.

While I hope we can design alternative systems and sustainable, circular economies, the desire for growth may be a hardwired part of the human condition.

Despite all good intentions, the hedonic treadmill is real.
