Don't forget about flicker free dimmable LEDs. I install them in my house.
Re:Safari introduces Adaptive Dark Mode in 27.3 on Wednesday November 04, 2026 @07:55AM (#50364894)
I agree. For example, my blog uses #15202b background (which is pretty blue), and text color #dad8d8, and I find it quite good. https://blog.velocifyer.com/

I use the Dark Reader extension's brightness and contrast settings to fix this often, or other times I use the Stylus extension and write custom CSS.

Re:Safari introduces Adaptive Dark Mode in 27.3 on Wednesday November 04, 2026 @07:12AM (#50364514)
I hope this will work better than the Dark Reader extension, which barely works.

Did you try downgrading?

If you're having trouble connecting, turn off your proxy/VPN.
https://trycap.dev/ existed the whole time, and does not need wordpress.
Re:Show HN: Run full iOS 16.5 firmware on Android Devices on Thursday October 22, 2026 @01:04PM (#50198142)

Re:Jailbreaking the Switch 2 on Thursday October 22, 2026 @11:29AM (#50196773)
It's 7K charectors, and on the free demo version of the game, you can't save.
Re:Jailbreaking the Switch 2 on Thursday October 22, 2026 @09:18AM (#50194921)
This exploit requires an eShop only game.
Re:Jailbreaking the Switch 2 on Thursday October 22, 2026 @09:16AM (#50194902)
I did not know that.
Re:Jailbreaking the Switch 2 on Thursday October 22, 2026 @07:40AM (#50193992)
It's unfortunate that this requires a specific $25 game (SmileBASIC 4)

What will we do for RSS/Atom feeds?
Re:JPEG XL vs. AVIF for web use-cases on Saturday October 17, 2026 @09:16AM (#50130904)
I think that near lossless, progressive JPEG XL would work well, once compression algorithms improve. I am _so_ tired of trying to zoom in on a product picture (eg to see what buttons are on a remote or just to read fine print) on E-Stores, only to realize that I need to open in new tab and remove some query paramaters from the URL because they think that people are using 3G but with a computer with a fast CPU (to decode AVIF).
I will finally be able to use my old chromebook for something.
Re:Passkeys Are Not a Trap on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:39AM (#50089383)
For me, randomly generated passwords(via proton pass) combined with remembering to check the URL stops phishing and is easier to share.
Re:Noto means "no tofu": fixing dotted circles in Myanmar text on Saturday October 10, 2026 @08:25AM (#50032229)
The problem is that noto lacks support for double stroked text, like "".
Does that support HTTP/3 with TLS over QUIC (instead of TCP)
Where do you get it ($4/Year VPS, presumably with IPv4 as it is used for a website) from?
Re:How to self-host a web font from Google Fonts on Thursday October 08, 2026 @02:49PM (#50010244)
It's fixed.
Re:When did Google get so f-ing weird? on Thursday October 08, 2026 @10:51AM (#50006520)
Try a diffrent search engine like DuckDuckGo. (also the <del>blog</del><ins>website</ins> could be down)
Re:How to self-host a web font from Google Fonts on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @05:20PM (#49998944)
I'm in the process of fixing it actually.
