Karl Marx answered all of these questions back in the 20th century.

Zillow already has that. You input an address and it tells you the distance in time by transportation method on each property details screen. You can also sort properties according to distance from the given address. The software labels it a "work" address, but you will face no consequences for using an address that you do not work at.
I just learned Google is opening a new office in Chicago within the next few months. What's that all about?
Eh, sounds unprofitable
Socialism or barbarism.
How else would the ruling class rule? This is how capitalism works.
These are such utterly meaningless measurements. Are you actually this stupid or only pretending?
American wages have been stagnated for over 30 years.
Lmao no. The US just has a massive global military and dollar hegemony.
The same thing about housing that causes us to lose our minds. Under capitalism, investments (risky and otherwise) are commonly working people's only hope for a taste of freedom. If you don't like it, you have a friend in me.
Re:Apple Introduces M2 Ultra on Tuesday June 06, 2023 @02:16AM (#36208839)
>A pair of high end nVidia GPUs will be substantially faster than an M2 Ultra

By how much?

Why did they discontinue support for eGPUs? They have some legacy beef with Nvidia and now they are increasingly competitors.
Did they really say "Jim Cameron?" Lol.
I am not equating liberal with left wing.
Interesting. Which M2 machine are you using?
I can't speak for cycles, but Redshift is very slow on OpenCL. I've never heard of using it on Metal. I know it was written for CUDA and didn't even support OpenCL for a long time. Do you know how it runs on Metal?

I don't think V-Ray GPU will run on anything but Nvidia, and if it will then it's definitely slow.

The Democratic Party is neoliberal by every imaginable definition of the term, and so-called "classical liberalism" was abandoned with the onset of WW2. Which liberalism are you referring to?
I think it's ruled out by the fact that Nvidia would need to release macOS drivers, and there is no realistic chance of them doing so without Apple's support.
I don't care about playing with LLMs, so this is simply meaningless to me.
>3D animation

Disagree. All the good GPU-based rendering engines need CUDA, and none of them are optimized for Apple silicon. Octane (the one in the demo) is trash, only good for fancy titles and that sort of thing.

I just built a workstation with a 32 core Threadripper Pro, 128 GB RAM, and an RTX 4090 for $6,500.
It would be useful for 3D rendering and that's about it.
I am probably the minimal target market for the mac pro m2 ultra. I am an artist and I do a lot of 3D rendering. I think it's a great price and I would love to own one, but I wouldn't even consider it unless it had support for Nvidia GPUs. Good GPU-based 3D rendering engines need CUDA. Octane, the rendering engine in their demo, is trash. Less important but still a consideration is that I don't really want to be stuck with only macOS on my workstation because one of my favorite 3D softwares is windows-only. All of this is such a shame because I absolutely hate building and maintaining a PC workstation.

>all the ones i know go miaow

Yeah, these people seem like they've never had cats before. Purring does not mean hunger.

Surprisingly brief and well-written letter. I hope they overcome.
There would be if it were a strike, because the so-called "strikers" would operate the company as employees.

This is a boycott, not a strike.

This isn't a strike lol. It's a boycott.
>a "strike" of sorts

Why is everyone calling this boycott a "strike?"
