Take me to the cleaner. Go after everything I own. Leave me with no karma. Fight.

Are you guys getting tired? Come on fighters you can do it.

Ah. That really hurts.

Lawyers are fighting and downvoting is spanking. Naughty boy will not say bad things about honorable professions again. I promise.

Lawyers fight? We are not from the same hood...

Re:Google "Reading Level" filter on Friday December 10, 2010 @05:15PM (#1993400)
Search for [Donkey].

Advance results bring the Equus africanus asinus from Wikipedia first. Good. Basic results bring Donkey (Shrek) from Wikipedia second. Google might be onto something here .... but wait.... what is it there at number one for the basic reader... humm... "YouTube - Donkey Rapes Man". Hummm... who are our "basic" readers? ... gota think about this feature a little more.... ;) Meanwhile, a classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRm8okHhapU

Re:How I Screwed Up My Google Acquisition on Wednesday December 08, 2010 @03:00PM (#1984380)
I don't think you "screwed" anything. You can't force a relationship, and it is a waste of time to think about the email you didn't send. Had you sent it and got no reply, would you feel better? How about the email they didn't send? Maybe they are the ones who "screwed"?

Naaa.

If you have an idea and you learn how to implement it you might find yourself a single founder/creator.

You know what they say about those, right?

"What's wrong with having one founder? To start with, it's a vote of no confidence. It probably means the founder couldn't talk any of his friends into starting the company with him. That's pretty alarming, because his friends are the ones who know him best." -- Paul Graham, 18 mistakes, 2006.

Re:Ask HN: What advice messed up your life? on Friday November 26, 2010 @07:23PM (#1943839)
Things along these lines:

As long as you've made something that a few users are ecstatic about, you're on the right track. ... It may take a while, but as long as you keep plugging away, you'll win in the end.

That's not realllllllly how it works in the valley.

Paying customer number one is what makes it a product.

True. But on this net....

The angry birds are angry and the pigs better watch out.
> This is unfortunate - that seems like a lot of work for a relatively simple, albeit well-done app.

It takes a lot of work to make things look simple. And even more to make them well-done.

> How much would someone have to pay you to drown X months of development work and your entire userbase in the Deadpool?

Destruction is so much easier than creation. They don't have to pay you, they just need to send the in-house destruction team.

> How many 0s does it take to make an option that's viable into one that's desirable?

How much does it take to fix a "man barely alive" into something that is "better, stronger, faster"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoLs0V8T5AA

It is not about what is "real" or "unreal". Calling it an acquisition is part of the value Google is providing to the deal. It is not measured in dollars but maybe just as valuable nonetheless.
Fair enough. If you can't down vote for the content down vote for the guidelines violation.

What's wrong with that? Isn't the "passion" people always talk about an emotional thing?

Re:Ask HN: Why is there no competitor to the iPod Touch? on Tuesday September 14, 2010 @11:36PM (#1693224)
It wasn't sarcasm. It was a shortened version of the argument that, among other things, the iPod Touch is the most important device in the iOS product line and it has always been the case. As such, Apple carefully positioned it as that it will be as invisible as possible (for example sale numbers are bundled with iPods not iPhones) while it slowly grows to become "the one". The decoy was apparently good enough that even Google failed to notice the opportunity. They made the Nexus free from carrier but not free from phone parts. Or, it was, generally speaking, some argument along these line. But since long arguments lead to useless arguments, they may become poison to this "forum". So I avoid. Most of time. Now you owe me 8 upvotes. [sent from a Chrome browser NOT on the ChromeTouch].
