Re:Dealing with Insomnia on Tuesday July 14, 2020 @12:01AM (#23828402)
Not parent, but I've tried a few different earplugs for sleeping, and settled on Hearos Ultimate Softness Series [1]. I buy them in a box of 100, which lasts for ages (I generally get 3 days out of a pair).

Other ones I tried tended to cause pain after a day or two. It did take a couple of days to get used to having them in, but now I really miss them if I don't have any with me.

Regarding alarms/emergencies, I always wake up to my phone alarm, and I find that I'm generally able to hear 'past' them for things I'd usually be on the alert for.

I have the same, and they're brilliant. Put them on and it feels like I'm instantly transported to different (quiet) place.

For sure. Win 10 Pro x64, 4K screen at 150%. Just tested on Firefox Developer 73.0b6 (64-bit), Chrome 79.0.3945.130 (64-bit), Edge 44.18362.449.0, IE 11.592.18362, all with the same issue [0][1]

I think it's just that with the background image being 1880×1253, it isn't wide enough with background-size: auto. I just changed it in FF devtools to background-size: contain, and it looks fine.

Thought your username looked familiar, I've seen your site on OzBargain many times.

I always wondered how/if finding cheap flight deals could be automated, and it's interesting to hear that it's as hard as it seems.

Just FYI, your logo and part of the menu disappear off the sides of the site background on my 4K screen.

That's neat! The glitter particles in the secondary explosions look fantastic.
A significant factor in the 74-75 fires was extra plant growth from unusually heavy rainfall in the two years prior providing extra fuel[1]. Very different circumstances to the current situation.
