Worth trying Tribler. Seems it's Torrent traffic inside its own Tor network. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribler
Re:HTTPS adoption has reached the tipping point on Wednesday February 01, 2017 @02:59PM (#13544441)
I can easily configure NoScript to only use HTTPS on, say, ¤.cn . Sites that downgrade-redirects to http:// gets stuck in a loop. Annoying for everyone, so it raises awareness.

The prefs.js syntax is, noscript.httpsForced "¤.cn\n¤.ru\n*.uk"

Edits: ¤ characters are asterisks.

Re:Of course Zuckerberg wants to bow to Chinese censorship on Friday November 25, 2016 @09:30AM (#13036921)
Facebook makes more money. NSA gets another tap in China. China gets to tap and censor Facebook data. They all win, at the people's expense.
There are also about:config settings that improves privacy,

//no 3p cookies

network.cookie.cookieBehavior;1

//less referer headers

network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy;2

network.http.referer.spoofSource;true

network.http.referer.trimmingPolicy;2

//etc

beacon.enabled;false

dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled;false

dom.enable_performance;false

dom.network.enabled;false

dom.battery.enabled;false

dom.vibrator.enabled;false

dom.storage.enabled;false

dom.indexedDB.enabled;false

I trust Mozilla more than Microsoft. Is there any way to simply purge all Windows certs and import everything from cert8.db?
Re:Deprecating Non-Secure HTTP on Friday May 01, 2015 @09:48AM (#9471207)
Regardless how static a site is attackers are free to inject any script code they wish in the HTML page on Http.
o Fix all broken internal links. Xenu's Link Sleuth is good program (and a hilarious name).

o Never remove old pages, just update them. This prevents braking incoming backlinks.

o Take a look at letsencrypt.org. (Avoid halfway-HTTPS like CloudFlare etc)

o (etc)

Cover all the basics and keep the money.

Re:The Solar System and Beyond Is Awash in Water on Wednesday April 08, 2015 @02:49PM (#9342927)
We have proof. So far we already have detected a planet with Earth-like conditions (called Earth). Life formed on it. Possibly several times independantly.

The statistics for life on very earth-like planets are staggering.

How about a 'Block all downgrade Redirects' feature. Many sites supports HTTPS but forces a downgrade redirect, 301 or 302, to http.
Re:Tor Browser 4.0 is released on Sunday October 19, 2014 @05:29AM (#8477743)
The NSA and other agencies around the world already has you targeted. Tor makes you safer. Tor makes you aware of risks. This is also good since you are now better suited to defend yourself accordingly.
It becomes more complicated as they then act on those predictions. Thus mucking up said predictions. And by doing so requires new predictions (expensive guesses).

Re:Google offering free Chromebooks to Indian schools on Friday December 27, 2013 @05:33AM (#6970160)
Hopefully the kids learns exactly this. How to get rid of the Google lock-in, and installs something that unlocks the full potential of the hardware.
Re:Should you code well or code fast? on Friday December 13, 2013 @06:19AM (#6900008)
'Release early, release often.' This suggests quick and dirty code is better than slow and mature code.

Though worse code benefits the most by having well-enough made Comments.

Re:What Rare Earths Are Locked in Your Cell Phone? on Friday December 06, 2013 @01:14AM (#6859689)
Things that glimmers like gold in phones and computers and wires, are gold plated. It's likely worth the time to pluck out the shiniest parts and save them in a pile. A pile that grows in value over time. And increases in value the larger it gets.

Also, it's fun to take things apart.

Most likely the filesharing is next to be censored. I can smell it a mile away. This has nothing whatsoever to do with bad porn at all. Porn is the excuse to get the censorship framework firmly in place.

They might have. They wouldnt tell anyone what they know, or what they dont know about.

Also depends what kind of mask is used.

Sure. But wait, you might change your mind in the future. Nostalgia perhaps.
Re:Google censoring results, erases 'No Filter' option on Wednesday December 12, 2012 @04:59PM (#4912709)
Seems Google finally killed the safe=off parameter. I'm confused now. And sad, because I miss all those boobs.
Google uses the word 'personalization' as a euphemism for 'censorship'.
Combating depressions and suicides. In many cases there's also outside causes that begins downward spirals.

People often suggests therapy and/or pills that changes you. But they rare suggests exploring external causes, and external solutions.

For example, it may be better to drug bullies rather than victims...

"sites that host infringing content"

Since when does Piratebay host any infringing content? There's only links to infringing content. Google also links to infringing content.

Fucking control fanatics.

We must stop playing just defense against ACTA and such crap. We need an offensive endless stream of Law suggestions for stronger protections of freedoms.

Re:9/11 tragedy pager intercepts on Tuesday September 11, 2012 @02:10AM (#4504046)
World War 3 was mentioned because it was unclear what was going on. I remember myself thinking that if anyone overreacts, things can go from bad to worse. And if that triggers an overreaction response - things could escalate on its own.

jscl.exe -d -j -n -r -s ¤.jp¤

Instantly gets rid of more jpg junk.

Edit: replace asterixes with ¤

Re:The 11th Principle of Good Design on Tuesday August 28, 2012 @08:33PM (#4446538)
The best designs copies nature. Nature is lazy (energy-efficient) and elegant. Example. Soap bubbles quickly settles in shapes that are most efficient.

For us humans we're not as intuitive with nature. We have many distractions and conflicting goals. It takes us more, and longer, iterations to figure out these things. We're just not lazy-enough.

Re:Ask HN: Does HN move too fast? on Tuesday August 28, 2012 @08:15PM (#4446495)
Needs slightly more checking against near-duplicates submissions. Sometimes i get a deja vu feeling (maybe it's just a glitch in the matrix).

Though, some important issues that stays current deserves several updated submissions. Those near-dups are good.

Re:Design Tip: Never Use Black on Friday August 10, 2012 @01:13AM (#4365024)
I only see the difference when i know to look for it. That's good design.
