I love firefox. I did the swap 20 years ago to Chrome, and then swapped again 10 years ago. Firefox is the goat.

Oh when you open an app to do a task and you get 5 new pop ups asking you to let them show you the new tool. Like, no. I don't have the bandwith right now. i'ld love to look at them but you chose the worse time. And then you can never go back to see what the tutorial was on the new feature.

I use a very large mouse cursor because I hate when I have to search for the thing. Sometimes during meetings I get brain dead comments about it. I make it bigger in spite when I get a comment about it. Then in meetings they complain that they can't find their mouse pointer.... /rant

Yes, that's a good one! Many skilled programmers working in corporations like to go for this one.
Re:Ask HN: How to deal with long vibe-coded PRs?
on Tuesday November 04, 2025 @01:42AM (#45808041)
I have a tangent question: How do you deal with a team that spends days nitpicking implementation, double-speak and saying. I didn't actually expect you to implement this the way I said, I was just saying it would be nice if it was like this, can you undo it. I spend 3 weeks on a code review because of the constant back and forth; and I wish oh I wish they would allow PR to be small but the rule is that the PR has to implement the full deliverable feature. And that can mean 20 files to constantly change and change and change and change. Oh and then the why did you use Lombok question that occurs even though the project uses lombok and so you are stuck defending the use of a library that's is used in the project for no random reason than to flatter the egos of the gatekeepers who say, yes this is good but I want you to name this abc instead of ab before we merge. When in context it doesn't add or remove any value, not even clarity.

Also 'crapification'. I currently have a low amount of trust of product quality wherever it might be manufactured.

This doesn't surprise me. As much as I would love to buy locally made products, in my economic condition I have to stretch my dollar as far as it can go. If it is the difference between buying a Dyson vs a XISXKE, well the Dyson is better for my money. But for the same shower head, that product will not scream quality unless I'm in the market to buy a higher end product. I may emotionally respond with, nobody else in the USA is supporting locally made products, why should I?
I will however go out of my way to buy Canadian over American out of spite.
