Yea, I can see how that could be a problem. Do you think I should just have a solid color background? Do you think the clouds are too busy?

Ask HN: How do I find a marketing person for equity?

Over the past couple years, I have built an online educational tool that combines a dictionary with flashcards and uses games to help users learn. The site is called WordStash and is at http://wordstash.com. The feedback has been great and the site is growing steadily. I do not have the time to work on the marketing and promotion of the site and would like to divvy it out for equity. How...

Ask HN: Do Microsoft, Google, and Amazon create or destroy more companies?

I was having an argument about this the other day with a friend and was wondering what you guys thought. In terms of total value of companies created as a result of Microsoft, Google, and Amazon (i.e. seo companies by google) versus total value of companies destroyed (i.e. netscape by microsoft and borders by amazon).

Re:Kevin Rose on the sources of Digg's problems on Tuesday March 22, 2011 @04:41PM (#2356380)
This is actually taken a bit out of context in you watch the full interview. This response was to the question of what experiences from Digg are you taking with you to your next startup and what are you going to do differently.

Reverse non-disclosure for potential employer

I am a ruby on rails developer that has some sites currently in private beta. I am looking for some part time word and wondering, what would be the best way to protect myself legally and allow a potential employer to view my work? Is there some sort of non-disclosure agreement that I could have them sign?

How is this different than http://www.instapaper.com/?
Ok, thanks a lot. In my example(www.newsite.com and my LLC is CoolCorp), what would be the correct wording? Something like: "NewSite © 2010 is an affiliate of CoolCorp LLC."?

You could get two other friends and be rock, paper, scissors. Then go around battling each other with character driven dialog. For example, if you're rock and you fight paper and lose, you would scream, "Why does this keep happening?! What does he have that I don't have?!?!"

Regardless of thinking speed, the more you know, the better you think. You are able to analyze a given situation or problem more effectively because you can draw on past experience or knowledge and make a more informed decision. I would happily take an 'experienced' brain over a young on that is faster (if thats even true, which i dont really believe...).

Pretty cool. I'm curious, did you use the Flickr API to process the flickr url and get the thumbnail? or did you scrape it?
