I'm a senior software engineer with focus on backend. I've been building for over 10 years and worn a few different hats: co-founding a startup, consulting, leading a team. Mosty I work with Python, Django, TypeScript, Node.js. I have extensive expereince working with LLMs since the GPT-2 days. Recently I've exited a startup I've co-founded (https://www.getwelder.com/) and build MagicCut (GPT powerd video editor) at VEED.IO. I prefere fixed term contracts but would consider an interesting long term offer too.

Re:Ask HN: What have you built with LLMs? on Tuesday February 06, 2024 @05:11AM (#39272702)
This is awesome. I've been looking for this exactly in the last few days.

I'm a senior software engineer with over 10 years of experience. I've worked with startups, big companies, and co-founded and exited two business. My main focus is backend development with Python Django but over the years I've touched many different technologies (React, Objective-C, C#, C++, Go, WebRTC, etc.).

I love to solve hard problems in simple ways and to get from zero to one as swiftly as possible while not sacrificing quality. To achieve this I always try to deeply understand the business perspective of the product and identify the most important areas to focus on. The combination of management and deep technical skills is what I feel is my biggest strength.

I am available for a fixed term contract which may be a perfect fit to build your MVP or help your startup right after seed round before you scale up the team. I also have my two friends and colleagues with pretty similar background (senior full stack engineer and product manager/designer) at disposal in case your project is more demanding. Let me know on LinkedIn if you are interested.

Good job! I've been playing with something similar in OpenAI Playground to asses contract's I get from my clients. It saved me a lot of time going through all the lengthy legal nonsense. This looks like a pretty nice free tool that take's this idea further. But it must be expensive to run. I guess it uses the retrieval functionality and it must feed the whole contract to the prompt to work properly. So I guess it won't stay fee forever. I thing there could be a lot of demand for something like this but with more advanced functionality like edits done automatically to the contract. I'm really looking forward for AI to replace lawyers in the future.

Ask HN: Protecting Against Attacks Triggering Costly Tasks?

How do software companies safeguard against attacks that trigger costly operations like LLM inference through a 3rd party service or generate excessive egress traffic for files housed in S3? I know companies where a malicious actor could in 30 minutes of work and and some proxies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. In theory, one could devise a sophisticated system to monitor trends and...

Re:Berlin rent cap overturned by Germany's top court on Thursday April 15, 2021 @05:06AM (#26817980)
In Prague we have a comparable housing problem to Berlin but all the politicians tend to balme AirBnB and real estate investors and they all focus on some kind of market regulation. Mostly just talking about it because they know any strict regulation would be unconstitutional. From the technical perspective the solution is simple. We should just build more houses in big projects like we did 40 years ago which will drive down the unit price and also provide all the necessary infrastructure like public transport and schools. Pretty big portion (tens of percent) of Prague's housing capacity was build during the 40 years communist era. If we could successfully build huge housing projects like Jižní Město (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ji%C5%BEn%C3%AD_M%C4%9Bsto) during this awful regime whit very limited economic resources then it's surely doable now and in much higher standard. We just lack the political will to think longer then next 4 years till the next elections and to solve the problems instead of just talking about it and blaming someone else.

That would be super helpful to us. Can you please hit me at [email protected]? We could schedule a call or just text chat about it if that's ok for you.

We store unuploaded chunks of the video in IndexDB in a browser. Btw if plan to do something similar beware of the fact that storing a lot of blob references in IndexDB can cause some wired issues in Chrome a some blobs can get corrupted. Our workaround is to store it as byte arrays.
Re:Show HN: Welder – Record high-quality remote interviews on Friday January 22, 2021 @08:09AM (#25871349)
Thank you! We use Twilio for our WebRTC infrastructure with VP8 simulcast setup so we do use SFU but only through Twilio. We were considering how to get rid of Twilio and quite extensively researching what would it mean to run our own WebRTC infra as Twilio costs are pretty high (sometimes up to 1/4 of our revenue). But operating multiple servers around the word to act as SFUs or creating them on demand in e.g. GCP and paying the cloud tax in form of extremely expensive egress costs doesn’t seem to be the right solution either. Other service providers have very similar pricing, that's why we will stay with Twilio for now.
Can’t we keep it underground just till we have space rockets so reliable and cheap so we can dispose all the nuclear waste to space? Definitely not something we are even remotely able to do now but when talking about hundreds and thousands of years it seems possible.

Re:You Probably Should Be Wearing a Face Mask If You Can on Monday March 30, 2020 @08:31PM (#22733782)
Washing it in boiling water for 5 minutes should be enough but you should do it at least every day. This is what our government advise us here in Czech.
Re:You Probably Should Be Wearing a Face Mask If You Can on Monday March 30, 2020 @08:27PM (#22733745)
Wearing a face mask is compulsory here in Czech Republic for a third week now and you can even get fined for not doing so. According to our government this is one of the most important measures introduced to slow down the spread of the virus. Our PM is even trying to convince other EU governments to do the same. People are advised not to touch their face and clean their mask by washing it in boiling water every day. It’s not too complicated and hopefully will be effective.
Only possible problem I can think of is that you would trigger some of the fraud rules on Apple’s, network’s or issuer’s side as all theses parties have the ability to trigger yellow or red flows during the token provisioning. You would then probably have to call your issuer for assistance every time you want to provision new card to your device.
