This sounds a lot like what the colibri project did for GLM-5.2. I'm a fan so keep at it!

Agreed.
Take a look at Luban3D. It does a lot of the automated mesh cutting.

Re:TikTok says it is restoring service for U.S. users on Sunday January 19, 2025 @05:23PM (#42762638)
This is probably the best summary / example I have read on how to explain the paradox of tolerance.

Thank you!

I'm making an educated guess but probably the cutting of chips from the wafers, placing them into the appropriate ceramic socket types (DIP, BFGA, SMD etc), soldering the line wires from chip to pin, encasing the chip, etc.
I like it. Been running one for 6 months now and it's been great.
Re:Framework Laptops are now Thunderbolt 4 certified on Monday November 07, 2022 @04:15PM (#33512585)
I'm running an nVidia GTX1080 in an eGPU enclosure connected to my framework and it works pretty well. Have to disable the Intel Iris card in device manager to get games to use the 1080 and then re-enable it before you undock, but other than that, it's seamless.

I love it.

Yes. Get vaccinated when you can.

Education is never worthless.
Re:U.S. forgives 40k student loans on Wednesday April 20, 2022 @01:27PM (#31100189)
I paid off my student loans. My wife has student loans still.

If next year all new college students get free tuition I'm not going to be upset that I had to pay.

I'm going to be happy that they don't have my burden.

We as a society need to push the next generation up, not complain that they don't have it as hard as we do.

*Free Tuition = Tuition paid for by our taxes.

Incredible work.
Re:Ask HN: What happened to surveillance camera guy? on Thursday March 24, 2022 @07:53AM (#30788610)
There is no expectation of privacy in a public area. So I don't see how there is a big difference.
Re:How old are democracies across the world? on Thursday February 24, 2022 @11:00AM (#30456226)
One is a form of government, the other is an economy.

You can have a Socialist Democracy or a Socialist Dictatorship, just like you can have a Capitalist Democracy or a Capitalist Dictatorship.

Oof. Not a good look for edge.

I'll be the first to admit I think this protest is about a bunch of idiots with a victim complex. They should just get the vaccine like 90% of the rest of their profession have done. It's safe and is what anyone should do to help their fellow humans.

The Emergencies Act is law. If Edge wants to do business in Canada they have to follow it. I don't see this ending well for them.

Maybe I'm an old curmudgeon, but I also don't want to see ANY financial company using memes in an official press release.

Some great images here of how people are fed up with the anti-vaxxers and truckers who are a vocal minority about the vaccines.

The needs of the many. Get the vaccine. It's safe and allows you to be part of society again.
Yes, such a cruel and unusual punishment to have your groceries delivered directly to your door.
Not a police state to put in more restrictions after the bare minimum hasn't worked or been followed.
Re:COVIDtests.gov – Free at-home Covid-19 tests on Friday January 14, 2022 @06:01PM (#29941700)
I have an under 5 year old offspring that isn't eligible to get the shot yet. Once he gets them this year I will definitely be breathing easier.

<3 Thank you for saying what I couldn't put into words.
Re:COVIDtests.gov – Free at-home Covid-19 tests on Friday January 14, 2022 @05:24PM (#29941334)
You mean taxes. I'm happy our taxes are going to this.
Re:COVIDtests.gov – Free at-home Covid-19 tests on Friday January 14, 2022 @04:45PM (#29940871)
For a brief while after getting vaccinated, before Delta and Omicron, my friends, coworkers, and I felt we were out of the woods. We are actively going out together to our favorite hangouts and being normal. I didn't think we would need this site.

Finding out that my Governor let a million tests expire rather than give them out, make me happy this site is available. I'm glad I can rely on the federal government to fix what my state government is ruining.

Slate slab coasters from Amazon work really well for this. Engraved a couple of these for myself, like a Taito Bubbble Bobble chip and the MOS 6502 for a friend. They make amazing gifts.

After looking at your comment history I don't think money would better your life. Travel would.
Re:California Considers Doubling Its Taxes on Friday January 07, 2022 @07:08PM (#29846871)
Charity helps specific people. Taxes help everyone. I always vote to increase my property taxes. Libraries, Schools, Emergency Services all get better with that increased revenue.
Re:California Considers Doubling Its Taxes on Friday January 07, 2022 @03:16PM (#29844156)
If this passes I will be the first to move to California. I am happy to pay high taxes if it means it will better my lives and the lives of others.

also if $6000 in a year is that much to someone, then who are we to judge.
Wages haven't gone up, and prices still went up.
