It's a stupid, highly overrated game for sheeple.
Re:Releasing an iPhone game: Whack-a-Kitty three weeks later on Friday January 07, 2011 @02:19PM (#2080752)
Whacking any kind of animal is not cool.

But I wonder, with all the creative possibilities in the universe, why would someone design a game around abusing kittens?

Re:Releasing an iPhone game: Whack-a-Kitty three weeks later on Friday January 07, 2011 @02:07PM (#2080684)
It seems you're not cognizant of the impact and impression a name like that can give people.

Take some social responsibility. And be prepared to deal with concerns like mine as long as your game has that name.

Re:Mass Animal Deaths Are Not in Fact Unusual on Friday January 07, 2011 @02:00PM (#2080653)
ReadWriteWeb are linkbait whores. I'm totally serious. I stopped taking them seriously a long time ago.
Re:Mass Animal Deaths Are Not in Fact Unusual on Friday January 07, 2011 @01:54PM (#2080631)
I can see it now: the moon spirals off into the sun, and some "expert" is going to say that it's "not unusual".
Re:Mass Animal Deaths Are Not in Fact Unusual on Friday January 07, 2011 @01:49PM (#2080601)
I love the wording here: "not unusual". So what does it make it? Usual?
Re:Releasing an iPhone game: Whack-a-Kitty three weeks later on Friday January 07, 2011 @01:42PM (#2080556)
Maybe I'm over-sensitive, but the game sounds like it makes light of animal abuse.

So very, very not cool.

Just to let you know jhubert, I'm not clicking on your link because it's a juvenile headline and very spammy sounding.

The "Awesome. I love the Internet" line didn't help to change my mind either.

Re:Blekko already has a list of domains to block from results on Friday January 07, 2011 @02:02AM (#2078880)
Wow, the search results are terrible on blekko. I think someone's gone crazy with the ban hammer.

My suggestion to blekko: look for signals of relevance to determine serps, instead of flagging every other website as spam.

Re:Ask HN Getting Started in the SF Bay Area on Wednesday January 05, 2011 @11:25PM (#2073975)
My advice: don't say what you can do, show what you can do. Start a project you can get excited about and demonstrates your ability to market a product or service. Document the entire process on your blog, and create awareness to your blog with Twitter.

Good luck!

Re:Ask HN: Hyphenated domain names, good or bad? on Monday December 27, 2010 @11:31PM (#2044637)
If you are going to use hyphens, go f-u-n-k-y with it. Might be able to score some awesome domain names that way.
Re:Ask HN: boardgames or (and not) card games? on Wednesday December 22, 2010 @10:04PM (#2033366)
Card games is a rather broad umbrella term. Do you mean card games like Poker, or Magic: The Gathering? Or something experimental like Rejection Therapy?

Just trying to figure out what your after. I never play Poker (I find it boring, and I don't gamble) but I'm fascinated by social experiments like Rejection Therapy.

Re:This Is How You Deal With Design Ripoffs on Wednesday December 22, 2010 @09:49PM (#2033341)
It's a comparison. So what? I was expecting comeuppance.
Re:Get iCourage. The Rejection Therapy iPhone App is Here on Thursday December 16, 2010 @03:59PM (#2013648)
Sweet. I noticed there's 6 more suggestion cards in the app. The Game Crafter deck only has 30.
Re:Ask HN: Has anybody tried LinkedIn ads? on Monday December 13, 2010 @04:05PM (#2001954)
Disclosure: Haven't tried it. Why? Too expensive, and the engagement level on the site is too low (although I have no metrics to prove it).
Re:Ask HN: Fear of ToDo lists on Saturday December 11, 2010 @11:13PM (#1996392)
Whatever it is you're doing, you hate it. Start doing something you actually care about.
Re:Rejection Therapy Suggestion Cards - Entrepreneur Edition on Friday November 26, 2010 @11:05PM (#1944258)
It'd be interesting to see if playing the cards would actually increase business or not.
