Polish folk of my vintage probably remember Snikers, a somewhat amusing if not dumb rules based chatbot from 2000s. I wonder what chatbot one could devise that could run comfortably on the hardware of the period, given our advances in NLP.
The randomized wait is on top of the minute thing.
And here I am, always ensuring my cron jobs that make requests over the web are run on arbitrary minutes past full hour, with randomized wait.
I am tired, even if I don't use AI too much for my day job designing HW, mostly for disposable scripts if at all. The utter lack of stability in the market, not even 5 years out, is sad. That is even though I have savings to weather the storm and no major liabilities.
AI is a boon for learning, but the result will heavily depend on mental capability of the user; having a depression-induced brainrot doesn't help though.
And, in the last year clankers have started coming for us EEs.
The reality is that many people are more fucked than I am, but I can't stop the bad thoughts.
There are RF connectors by Hirose which are bypassable due to a built-in switch, but I don't think pigtails with them are common.
Very depressing to see the rent seekers trying to corner yet another part of the market. If IT is any indicator, for a HW engineer it's either layoffs or a pressure on velocity.
Artists, at least, can make the process be the product itself. But who cares what story is attached to a piece of hardware? Not on a meaningful scale, at least.
We don't need more chip designers, ZIRP is over, people from low cost of life economies flooded the job market. Have mercy.
I'm gonna be controversial, probably? The reason why AI is so tasteless and superficial may be that they contract it out to evaluators who otherwise are unemployed and averaged over the whole pool (this being the load-bearing qualifier XD) less skilled or tasteful than those who retained their job.
"lives in",
"ledger" -
The most obvious of the obvious claudisms :/
Not all, but there are such cases. My coworker was an example and they did not renew his contract, probably for that reason among others.
Sadly, we're in the tribalism era where it doesn't matter in the sligtest to the voters.
In Poland at least, the default investment of capital for such people (and doctors, and lawyers etc.) is real estate. No matter what, they will get a soft landing with rent income.
Back then the real estate market was non-existent. Consumer mortgages weren't a thing up until early 2000s.
Then again, I was talking about companies that have had some potential for scaling, like processed food, manufacturing etc. - not businesses that are inherently local.
In the recent history, the closest to capitalists actually taking the risk I can think of is family business owners in 90s Poland. While there were new export markets opening up and domesting demand growing as well, for some reason (I presume lending market was barely there) there were multiple stories of entrepreneurs quite literally betting the farm, mortgaging their houses etc. Some succeeded, some not quite.
The coolers are quite loud, though. And DCs compete for electricity with households.
And in the process obsoleting the work of many very dedicated fans who went to great lengths in order to record the Mario Kart World soundtrack (iykyk)
Now we need a mission to bring back home prices from Mars down to Earth.
Really that's the point, the issue is that people take "I made a fly brain do X" as more than mere shitposts they are.

You mean chip antenna (one that looks like a big SMD resistor)? Yes, they're garbage. But this is orthogonal to the chip itself.
Also, PCB antennas are reasonably good for most indoor situations.
Interesting they ignored the micro-reader trend that XTEINK started.
When tryhards flocked to ranked games; more broadly in the world with no opportunity for the young people e-sports emerged and they saw it as one.
Another example of uselessness of llms.txt.
Intel Pentium II used to have a hologram of the die shot.
Repo timestamp expected blah blah... toast coming out of nowhere is such a bad design. Really, the architecture in which you absolutely have to download the multi-MB index is as well.
The diverging life expectancy says otherwise. The point is, in other countries where far-right fucks up in a way that materially affects their voter base, it gets voted out in no time. But somehow, in USA, that's not the case.
USA is approximately the only developed country in which people consistently vote against their interest.
For what it's worth, apart from the migrant scare, PiS, the far-right friends of Trump, made a comeback in Poland in 2016 by promising and delivering 500+ which was an unconditional payout for parents.
And what Trump did give Americans? Half-assed tariffs which destroyed many businesses and individuals, and which were overturned anyway. Destruction of many jobs in the federal sector. Expensive fuel. And so on.
Me too. Hardware bugs that arise out of unanticipated module interactions are understandable. But this is a "you had one job" moment.
