Re:MicroLLM Lab – Try 7 tiny LLM's in the browser on Monday September 28, 2026 @08:18PM (#49886281)
That's hilarious. At least the smaller model is more self aware!
Why not on a shared drive like dropbox?

Concurrent editing wouldn't work, though.

Re:Building an AI Agent for PCB Design on Sunday August 23, 2026 @01:12PM (#49410519)
Fun little experiment with building a PCB design agent - I didn't think the tech was here already but it definitely seems to be!
Re:70% of AI revenue comes from OpenAI and Anthropic on Sunday August 09, 2026 @11:39AM (#49232435)

What are the advantages of a GPU database?

Hah funny I ended up giving it a go and ended up having a lot of trouble - connection issues, display issues, etc. They tried rebooting the machine but no luck.

Just bough a used mac today!

What provider are you using? I have it a shot through open router and saw some weird half formed words coming through occasionally, would love to switch over and give it a proper go
What issues did you have with macinacloud? In was considering using that to build and sign some dmgs and test my app and would love to know what your experience was like
Boxcryptor used to be amazing for this till they got acquired by Dropbox. Last I checked cryptomator couple years ago it still hand random file corruption risk, is that still true?

For now I just use hetzner storage share.

Re:Rapid Validation of Product Concepts with AI on Sunday January 04, 2026 @10:04PM (#46494882)
Put together a workflow for using AI to speed up product validation—research, branding, assets. Haven't tested it properly yet, writing it up so I don't forget.

The idea is I use AI generated assets to throw up a landing page and then see what actually performs well.

Are there other people doing the same thing or maybe even tools being built to do this all in one platform?

Give plasticity a shot - not FOSS but pretty decent CAD and works on linux
I know you are looking at this for education but I've actually ordered two to toss in my travel bag for when I visit factories to handle manufacturing bringup.

Great tool. Thank you.

This is amazing. I love that this exists. I'm surprised how negative some of the comments are.

Re:Ask HN: What are your most regretted tech purchases? on Wednesday November 27, 2024 @09:33PM (#42261891)
This is so interesting, I used to use exclusively Samsung but bought a Motorola phone for travel and the experience was so good I got rid of my main Samsung and bought another Motorola.
I love this, really well executed.
Re:Former President Trump is projected to win the presidency on Wednesday November 06, 2024 @06:04AM (#42060003)
I would be interested in learning what happened during COVID that led to this, if you have the time to talk about that. No worries if not, of course.
Re:Furilabs Linux Phone on Tuesday October 15, 2024 @10:19AM (#41848893)
They seem to have written the original article going off the articles author name and the name in their bio.
Thank you!
If I understand things correctly then my intuition for the answer to their mom's question would be gears wear out much less quickly than a clutch would if it were engaged all the time. Can anyone who knows more chime in?

Edit: ah wait no it's two multipliers isn't it, you're reducing overall power output when engaging the clutch?

Some yellows aren't too well timed, especially if on a downhill slope.
Re:My Obsidian note-taking workflow on Sunday July 28, 2024 @10:22AM (#41093348)
To search through and get the information when you need later, or to start with rough headings and start filling it in over the project. Works well imo.
Re:HE.net problem on Thursday July 04, 2024 @04:21PM (#40877753)
Please elaborate, how would block chain solve this problem?
I feel like they meant it in a more tongue in cheek manner given right above that they said that kind of tool will not be built into theirs?
Re:Citi Missed a Fat Finger on Thursday May 23, 2024 @07:10AM (#40453197)
I'm working on a project where this choice is relevant. Could I ask what you feel should be considered when making this decision? Thank you!
Re:I'm giving up on open source on Tuesday April 23, 2024 @11:40PM (#40140282)
Do you feel they would have paid someone to make the thumbnail if they didn't AI generate it or would we just have had a thumbnail that's less interesting?
