Re:We should be more ambitious with the software we build on Sunday October 25, 2026 @04:27AM (#50229421)
True but the number is also decreasing every day. And I'd imagine that it's decreasing pretty rapidly.
I don't think we should trust 'small model beats giant frontier model' either... Don't get me wrong I think small models are and could be great, but matching something like fable 5?
Re:Ask HN: Why did my post get [flagged]? on Saturday October 24, 2026 @07:32AM (#50220274)
I thought thats what Show HN was for, posting stuff you made? Relay is open source and free to use. I'm not selling anything, there's no paid tier or service behind it. It's a research project, and the models, code, and demo are all public.
Re:Ask HN: Why did my post get [flagged]? on Saturday October 24, 2026 @07:24AM (#50220238)
Fair enough, thanks. I was under the impression Show HN was meant for exactly this kind of thing, sharing something you built yourself, so I didn't think of it as self-promotion.

For context, Relay is open source and works pretty differently from the usual generative LLMs that do tool calling. I put up a browser demo, the weights, code, benchmarks, and a list of where it falls short, so people could poke at it and judge for themselves instead of taking my word for it.

I've seen similar stuff posted as Show HN before (Cactus Needle, for one), which is partly why I figured it was fine. Totally fine if it's not interesting to people. I just want to know if I actually broke a rule with the submission.

Point taken on the writing, I'll work on that.

Ive been working on this alot, so far we've added a calendar feature, x.com oauth, bluesky oauth and we're working on even more connections. the purpose of this will be so that users can schedule posts, and we can retrieve the analytics of it and later propose better post times, we build a comprehensive algorithm to detect the best times and formats that achieve the most engagement on your specific account.
Re:Nodebox, a free open-source Webcontainer alternative on Monday March 02, 2026 @07:22PM (#47226212)
Nodepod is a free, open-source Node.js runtime for the browser—a lightweight alternative to WebContainers that runs npm packages, Express servers, Vite HMR, and more entirely client-side.

Key Highlights Instant & Tiny: Boots in ~100ms at 600KB gzipped (vs. WebContainers' 2-5s multi-MB WASM). Full Stack Support: 40+ Node polyfills (fs, http, child_process), custom shell, npm installs (e.g., React/Vue/Svelte previews). No Servers/Lock-in: Pure browser (Web Workers + Service Worker); MIT licensed, no pricing drama.

Try it in wZed, our Zed-inspired browser IDE: https://wzed.scelar.com/. GitHub: https://github.com/ScelarOrg/NodePod. npm: @scelar/nodepod.
